I'm James, or Southwark, and I've been building a brand new shopping centre for everyone on Skyblock that has been aimed at keeping prices low, while giving an impressive and enjoyable experience throughout the shopping centre. We've currently got roughly 70 stores open in the server and we are always looking to expand our project. I've been working on this for well.. pretty much forever. It's been a tough job because only recently sand was legalised so sand was incredibly expensive (not that it isn't now, lol) and hard to find, and crafting all of this 60,000 blocks of concrete was a tough job. The island is currently /visit Southwark, however when the time comes to transfer the island over to another account, it will turn into /visit CloudCentre. Anyway, it's done now, and I'm really excited to hear all of your opinions, ideas and feedback you may have on the design of the store. Please note that despite the mall being finished, it is currently not open as we are stocking the shop, and prefer to keep the island locked so that no one buys out all our stock immediately. Thank you. Signage First, the basics. I've spent a long time thinking about the best way to present things, in a way that they are understandable by frequent shoppers as well as brand new shopper noobs (all of you right now!). In this section I will explain how the signage works. This is one of our shop finding signs. There is one at the spawn of the island, and then two on each floor. For more in depth detail of what the signs tell you, please click on the image to enlarge it. This is our shop signs. They include the shop name and the shop location in the mall. Our shops work a bit differently to others, so here's a tutorial on how we work, even if you're already confident with the Trade Shop plugin, we recommend taking a look. Sometimes our shops will need to undergo maintenance, or sometimes a whole store rebuild and this is to either cope with demand or to improve our customer experience. Shops Stone Shop We sell a single chest at a time, this is due to server trade shop space, as well as player inventory space. Cobblestone Shop Yes this is the same format, but we do not sell cobblestone here, we only give away cobblestone! We are proud to announce that we are the first shopping centre to provide this feature. (Please note we have a strict no abuse rule for cobblestone, please do not be greedy and take it all, as this is mainly aimed for newer players. Abusers will be island banned. Thank you) Pret A Manger - Coffee Chain We're still missing a head from one of the armour stands, seventh person to reply to this thread gets to have their head on there. (My replies do count). Take a look at our menu! Glass Shop Our prices are cheaper than most shops, and definitely cheaper than /warp grass! Take your pick between dyed or non-dyed glass too! (Lift goes to Concrete Shop and Wool Shop) Wool Shop Cheapest wool you can find (I think!) Concrete Shop Thanks to the history of my shopping centre, this is some pretty darn good priced concrete! Redstone Shop There's some pretty decent priced redstone stuff here. Mostly from all the failed contraptions I've attempted to build. Nature Shop Just look at those beautiful flowers, despite it is literally 0 Celsius in England right now. Wood, Leaves and Sapling Shop One of my favourite shops because the build actually looks decent. Also look at that, cheapest wood on the server? Here's another one, because why not. Ore Shop I literally had no clue on the prices, sorry if they're really high and I'll change them if I get some accurate pricings. Shulker Box Shop I reckon the prices are decent. Prismarine Shop I managed to upload the photo after a long fight with some guardians. Anyway, you don't care about that, what you do care about though, is that this shop is very cheap! Slime Shop This shop is nothing special and I promise I'll rebuild it once everything is done and items are stocked. It's a bit of a bad one isn't it lol? Terracotta Shop It's the cheapest shop for terracotta, and I can 100% guarantee that. Glazed Terracotta Shop The name is too long. I hate it. Doesn't even fit on signs! Nether Shop Here's a photo of me dying when I was trying to take a photo of the shop. Can't quite see anything except a burnt up Southwark. Here's your actual photo (with me alive). Book Shop SHHHHHHHHHHHH! Waitrose (Food Shop) Is it really Southwark's mall if there's no Waitrose? Here's our food shop. High quality food, cheaper than it is in real life. Quartz Shop I really like this shop. Shame there's no lava, I was told it was, and I quote: "Too dangerous for players who may trip over the stairs and fall in." Psh. Music Shop Any of ya'll play the piano? Doesn't matter, come test out our piano, I bet you'll be no worse than I am. End Shop Yeah ok this shop did not turn out as expected. The chorus plants decided not to grow. Perhaps they've been starved of day light... Also yes I am aware there is a nether portal in the end shop, but it's free! I mean, who doesn't like free things?! Stone Bricks Shop It does look pretty epic to be fair. Mob Drops Shop The shops are not the same.... what are you on about?! Should've gone to specsavers. Dye Shop Fun fact, dye is obtained from flowers! Pranked. Some is from animals, like squids and from bones. Tools and Armour Shop I won't bore you with two photos, they're pretty much identical except for the number of chests in each shop. Rail Shop Creepy mineshaft? Mountains? Bushes? Yeah... I wasn't sure what I was building either. Horse Shop Horses! There will be a horse spawner in there at some point too so you can see "horsies"! Wagamama It's not my mall if there isn't a restaurant in there, and seen as I deliveroo a lot of wagamamas a month, here's one. We sell cooked meat as well as some soups, that are supposed to be ramen! Potion Shop I mean... the pixel art is pretty good, right? No? ok I should probably get some bottles for the drinks stand, or whatever they're called. Currency Shop Yeah... this one's still a work in progress! Snow Shop It's cold here. Like in England. Bring a coat. Or armour. Special Stone Shop They really aren't that special. Don't fall for the names. IKEA Thank me later. That's all the shops that I have to show folks! There are more shops coming soon and I will share them with you all closer to the time of completion, we have sand, fireworks and a shop dedicated to pickaxes coming soon. Shop Map Floor 1 Floor 2 Floor 3 Final Statement In case you were wondering from the photos, yes we do have 8 beacons, all with full tiers of gold. This means that there should be Speed II as well as Jump Boost II everywhere you go on the map. But don't jump on the furniture at the IKEA, otherwise the staff will get very cross with you. As always, I am incredibly open to suggestions, tips and ideas on how to improve our shopping centre. Even if it's just a sign change, or a shop redesign, please send me a DM and I will be happy to change things if they're reasonable. I am concerned that there may be a mistake or two in the shops, so please do let me know if you see a chest item spelt wrong, or if you see a directional sign spelt wrong, anything! This post is supposed to be comical just to help you get through all the information and boring photos there are here. I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone on the server, but especially to those who have helped immensely with building my store. I am so grateful to everyone who donated supplies, as well as money to help fund this project, as well as anyone who sold me items to help me move forward with it. This mall has been a long time in the works, and it is with my great pleasure to open it to the Skyblock public once it has stock. I presume this will be in roughly a week or two, but I wanted to inform everyone of the shop and how much work has gone in to this incredible project.
