I suggest that Iron Bars, Iron Doors, Iron Trapdoor, Weighted Pressure Plates, Cauldron, and Minecart can be crafted back to Iron. Droppers can be crafted back to Iron. This was formulated due to the hopper limit introduction but it is a really nice feature. The following items have the equivalent Iron. 1 Cauldron = 5 Iron 16 Iron Bars = 6 Iron or 8 Iron Bars = 3 Iron 3 Iron Doors = 6 Iron or 1 Iron Door = 2 iron 1 Iron Trapdoor = 4 Iron 1 Weighted Pressure Plate = 2 Iron 1 Cauldron = 7 Iron 1 Minecart = 5 Iron Simple implementation to help people who accidentally craft these items. I have not included buckets as this will further encourage Island Farming. If included into the implementation 1 Bucket = 3 Iron.
This should be 5x Iron Ingot Iron is in fact kind of scarce for non-donors and being able to recycle iron ingots from iron-based building materials is actually healthy and quite helpful This will also not conflicting with the purpose of iron blocks (storage) but some shops might need to adjust price of these items a bit to reflect on their new function Support this as a QOL!
Yes! And buckets too! You can already sell them so why not And minecarts are indeed 5 iron like Jix said
(considering you added the global prefix, here is my opinion for this feature on economy) Some changes will need to be made if this is going to be implemented on Economy, as some items can be bought in /shop and crafted into iron for cheaper than the original price of iron, and even cheaper than the current value of the item. e.g. Heavy Weighted Pressure Plate $500 for 2 iron ($250 per iron) Water Bucket $750 for 3 iron ($250 per iron) Cauldron $1750 for 5 iron ($350 per iron) Minecart $1250 for 5 iron ($250 per iron)
Being able to revert any item to its original materials kind of removes the survival aspect from things. It is nice being able to convert hoppers to iron but as sky has mentioned there would need to be an overhaul on /shop prices in order for other things to convert to iron.
Very good points here that I did not consider. I might focus on making this suggestion for skyblock only.
I do not think adding more things that stray away from the completely regular SkyBlock map is good, even if it may be qol. I believe only the hopper is able to be crafted back into iron is as you said because of the limit and also large amount of lag hopper used to produce.
Drogo doesn’t support this. If you’ve made something from iron, and made use of it, you shouldn’t be able to revert it as you essentially have gained the use of something without any cost. I know your suggestion is to aid those that make things accidentally but that’s just how things are. Drogo has accidentally placed grass but wouldn’t suggest that silktouch should work on grass. This suggestion will also mean that iron will become less valuable over time as the amount in circulation will just grow and grow as there is no longer a way for it to be removed from the game. This will take away the value of /kit iron and any kit that has iron in it. People will be less likely to purchase /kit iron in the future meaning reduced income for the server.
