There was a debate going on in another thread that didn't have too much to do with the original thread, so I'm making another one here. Are you of the opinion that evolution, global warming, etc. exists or do you have creationist views? I'm not loping evolution and global warming into one category, per say, I'm just opening up the thread to all sorts of debate.
You're completely right, the earth does have a history of undergoing warming periods with increased amounts of carbon entering the atmosphere; however, that's completely not the case today. The amount of carbon dioxide that's entered our atmosphere is an insane amount that's corresponded almost precisely with the amount of fossil fuels that we've been burning. EDIT: See this chart here What's crazy is that this is a graph from 2007. Since then, there's been even more evidence pointing towards the fact that it's anthropogenic. Read this article here. EDIT 2: If this doesn't convince you, then take into consideration the fact that between 90-97% of global scientists have concluded that global climate change is in fact anthropogenic.
If I were president I would have strict gun laws, invest in alternate energy sources, bomb isis a̶n̶d̶ ̶N̶o̶r̶t̶h̶ ̶K̶o̶r̶e̶a̶, lower taxes for the middle class, increase taxes on the wealthy and big business. Tax sugar drinks, sugar cereals, and Marijuana. Put a 30% tax hike for tobacco and E-Cigarettes. Keep illegal immigrant families in the US, kick out the criminals. But sadly I cant cuz im still in high school
(Thank you MindSensation for roasting me about this the other day) Anyways, science does prove evolution. It's obvious that everything has changed over time. I'm also a believer in creationism, I believe that God created everything that we see today, and the first things to ever be created were by Him. I believe in evolution, but not to the extent of the ‘molecules-to-man’ theory of evolution (The concept of evolution that says all life came from a simple, one-celled organism). I believe humans have always been humans. Once you begin to fully believe in theories such as the Big Bang, you begin to pick & choose what parts of the Bible you want to believe in, which I would be against. There are many different interpretations of Genesis, too, such as that the time referred to is not the same as the concept that we have about time. Some Christians say that creationism can co-exist with evolution, and it really just depends on your interpretation. I think this link makes some good points that help support what I'm saying; 7 Scientific Findings That Support Creationism Over Evolution I think climate change is an issue and that modern day technology that we use does speed up the natural process of climate change, I just don't view it as our biggest issue. I completely support taking action to help prevent it from being worse and using more clean energy.
Well, there is proof that evolution exists. We all started off as something and split into other things. But I can't explain Trees and how life fully created itself. I respect what religions think, but this is my opinion.
Yes let's blame the Chinese I have to blame them for something. Other than having a better education system
Personally, I have done my research and I'm almost positive global warming is a stage. We had an ice age, moderate phase, and now a phase of 'global warming'. It goes in a cycle and will repeat, but not within our lifetime. Sure, the excess burning of fuels does not help this, but it certainly would not melt the ice caps completely and flood half the earth as these extremists are saying. It might melt some of the ice caps, but they'll refreeze at a later date. My guess is that in a couple million years we'll be plunged into an ice age again.
It is a cycle, yes that's basically been proven. But we're contributing to the cycle since we exist this time around and we're making it worse with everything we put into the air. So we can't say it's non-existent, it's blatantly there but we're making it much worse.
