Economy Updates - March 14th, 2021 Added Crop Hoppers. Use /crophoppers or view it within the /shop to purchase. By placing a Crop Hopper, all crops that the hopper allows will transfer to that hopper when fully grown within the chunk it is placed in. This means that no pistons or redstone is needed to have an automated farm working. This also cuts the usage of normal hoppers or water flow to have items transport around. You can also for instance have a farm at height Y100 and the hopper placed at Y200 and it will still transport to it. A chunk is 16x16 blocks from Y 0 - Y 256. Currently the different types of Crop Hoppers are: Level 1 (Crop Hopper) - Cactus and Sugarcane, 1 item per second, cost: $10,000 Level 2 (Crop Hopper) - Cactus, Sugarcane, and Wheat, 2 items per second, cost: $30,000 Level 3 (Crop Hopper) - Cactus, Sugarcane, Wheat, Pumpkins, Melons, 3 items per second, cost: $50,000 Tips: - I recommend using the /crophoppers menu rather than the menu within the /shop. - With the menu, if you are holding a level 1 or level 2 hopper, you can upgrade it for the difference in price to the next level. - Crop Hoppers will also work the same as normal hoppers so make sure to connect it to a chest for the items to be deposited. - Make sure to have at least one inventory space before purchasing one. There is a limit on the amount of items that can transfer to the hopper to counteract those that will make an even larger and compact farm such as having thousands of melons/pumpkins in a chunk. The limit is per second, though this may be adjusted depending on if it can currently be abused. A level 3 hopper can still do up to 3 items per second. Let's say a farm is modified to have 5 pumpkins automatically grown in a second (this is quite a bit so adjustments will likely be made, a pumpkin normally takes 10 - 30 minutes to fully grow), but 3 of those pumpkins will transfer to the hopper while the other 2 will just be deleted. I decided to add this as once again, the use of large (mainly) pumpkin or melon farms takes a huge toll on the server, they are essentially lag machines and we have implemented limits in the past to stop the server from crashing or lagging out. Currently our TPS (the speed in which the server normally operates) has been low and causing lag. As mentioned, we are also lowering the limits on pistons. Currently it is set at a maximum of 400 piston fires per 10 seconds in a chunk, this is hardly a limit and was only put in place from machines that could crash the server. Now the limit on pistons is 100 piston fires per 10 seconds per chunk. This is equal to 10 pistons per second which should still allow normal machines, casinos, and others. If your machine is not a massive farm and was blocked, do not worry and let us know so we can adjust this to find a common middle ground. This limit is still high however so we are hoping there is no issues. We understand that these changes will affect some players making large farms or machines in-operable, however it has gone on for too long and the impact on the server has been damaging. We hope you guys enjoy this cool update and we look forward to adding new custom things soon! Please let us know if you experience any bugs so we can fix them in the next update (tomorrow morning). Thanks!
This is a cool solution to a large problem, looking forward to seeing how this’ll work on the server. Custom items come with funky bugs, and those’ll take time to iron out, so be patient - perfection isn’t instant.
Nice addition to the server Minor problem - I'm running a relatively small farm considering others - and over about 45minutes my level 3 hopper has picked up about 70 pumpkins :/
who understands 100% how this works like u need 2 cactus does it only harvest the top one? do these hoppers count towards hopper limit can u place more than one per chunk ect and maybe makes these craftable requiriing lots of iron as this edit makes iron praticaly useless
199 x 199 island = 144 chunks = 144 level 3 hoppers = new goal set. I suspect though that these hoppers are included in hopper count limit.
Only 5x5 area of chunks are loaded around the player so 25 is the real maximum, also yes they do count towards the limit
