Display Cases

Would it be possible to introduce a display case functionality...

It would function in a similar way to a shop/trade chest, by typing the following on a sign attached to the front of a block:

[Title]
Comments

...but would allow the glass box above the block containing the item to be displayed.

 

This sounds cool and I support it, but isn’t that why we have item frames in the game?

 

Yeah support it would be cool maybe show the lore too o just don’t see what’s so different from this and item frames

 

Come on ... you gotta admit that a display case has one up on a picture frame any day...
...besides, it's designed for displaying 3D objects, whereas a picture frame is for displaying 2D objects...

 

I'm probably missing something, but isn't this already in game?

 

You could make a display case, make a trade shop and right click the trade sign with your rare, also place a carpet on the trade chest.

 

Neutral. Cool idea, although this server isn't the most vanilla, it tries to stay loyal to it's principles, and I think display cases just don't fit that. Like others said, You could accomplish the same with a trade shop (switch the display to be 3d) or an item frame. I wish you luck! ;D

 

If this worked then I would ... but I'm trying and I must be doing something wrong, because I can't get the sign to say what I want it to without looking like I'm selling something ... in fact I can't get it to work at all :/

 

Support, this could be cool for museums and different types of single windows.

 

You could surround the sign with blocks so people won't sell it and don't put anything in the trade chest.

 

as Arceus said you can already make a display case also item frames are semi 3d
