Hello, fellow Skyblock players!

Me and several members of the community are protesting the titles "Skygod" and "Skylord," along with the name of command "/godmode." This has gone on for too long, and many religious peoples including myself are both offended and aggravated by these believed to be blasphemous titles for players. All people are welcome to vote against these anti-God titles, and help change Skyblock history for the better of religious and ethnic inclusion of everyone. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! -Sincerely,

1) tbh, this is honestly kind of stupid. if someone did care about this they would have made it YEARS ago.
2) /godmode makes sense as the term has been used in other games for "invincibility" and at that point you can just boycott every game that has that.

 

It's a game.. A silly game, nothing more!

 

Blasphemy is to disrespect a god or religion. I don’t know that these titles really do that. These ranks and /godmode grants a player greater powers over lesser ranks so does it disrespect or does it show respect by acknowledging the power of the gods?

Additionally the title ‘Lord’ has been given to men for a long time now.

Me personally, I don’t believe in god or religion so I don’t really think I’m capable of blasphemy? Can I disrespect something that I don’t believe exists?

 

Support but only because having every rank start with `Sky` is nauseating and unoriginal.

 

I think the poll should be deleted and restarted without deliberately inflammatory wording. I've been forced to vote "I don't care about inclusivity" when my actual stance is "I don't agree with the claims of blasphemy."

I think inclusivity is important. But I don't think the term "skygod" in a block game counts as blasphemous or non-inclusive. No support.

 

To be honest I dont think this suggestion was posted because of really feeling offended, it was just that they hardly looked for something that could be seen as something that would annoy people and jumped onto it.

I never wanted to bring my religion into this game, but let me tell you, my christian radar tells me ur not dedicated on this.

By using the term "many religious people" you are exposing yourself as not really informed about our diverse christian society. Even though I am religious, I am not only christian, I am lutheran, and I think it is not ok to just put us all in a stirring pot. Maybe the catholics don't like the comparison with god? Then say it so, try to bring up some verses that underly your claims. This little writing does cannot be meant seriously to defend the honor of god. Put more effort into it if you are serious. God is loving and forgiving, not that controlling boyfriend that doesnt allow you anything. Having those Terms incorporated is an achknoledgement of his abilities and powers. He can enable you, he can heal you, lead you to new strength and success. He is someone you can trust and love, and just by thinking about my moments with god I'm getting boosebumps and watery eyes. God does not punish, I dont see these Ranks and think: wow this is better than god. It reminds me of our lord himself and being thankful of every day he watches and protects me.

God loves you. And so does Jesus. Amen.

I genuinely feel like this suggestion is just looking to start an argument about religion, they are literally just titles in a game, they're not taking the mickey out of religion in any way so the fact you're actively stating offense to the rank names is extremely weird. I also find it hilarious that your poll is actively shaming people who vote no by trying to make out they hate inclusivity, which ironically isn't very christian of you.
