Aight, nerds - It's time for me to finally apply for Mod. Intentional mispelling Before we start, though, here's a bit about myself. (Reading this is optional) Your in-game name: Awesomolocity (my /nick is Awsum) How old are you? 20 years old What timezone are you in? PST (GMT-8; west coast of USA) What country do you live in? USA What languages do you speak? I speak English and American Sign Language - though, I don't see ASL being relevant. LOL Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?) Nope. Why do you think you should be a mod? I'mma break this down for you guys I believe that I can add to the moderation team and help make this server a fun, safe, and inviting community for visitors. (And .org already has a wonderful community - as a mod, I want to help foster that community and let it grow) I solve issues and answer questions instead of "minimodding". Been on this server since at least early 2013 (pretty sure I joined sooner, but forum account says May 2013 and I have no actual evidence that I started earlier) I'm familiar with the rules, try to field questions from new people, and help them on their islands when I can. (I also try to answer questions completely - when somebody asks how to have somebody join their island, I tell them about /coop invite AND /trust) I'm able to be objective (means impartial) when looking at a problem / disagreement - I don't pick sides. (Basically read this) I'm friends (or on good terms) with almost everybody on this server. I try to avoid being put in situations where I create drama, however I have helped to resolve it before. I'm also friends with most of the other Mods (I think) which means that I shouldn't have any issues with "co-workers". c: I speak and type clearly. What qualifications do you have? I have have two jobs that require me to: Have good attendance Work hard, fast, and resolve issues ASAP Get along well with many different people, including customers, coworkers, etc Be dedicated to doing the job right have fun the whole time All of this will translate to my moderation if I am made moderator. I'm VERY familiar with Minecraft and different forum systems, so I can help players who only know the basics (or even less) I have development experience as a website developer and I excel in tracing the root of problems in code, and fixing them. (Languages: PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS. Java is not a language I'm familiar with yet) I've helped to resolve situations on the server when no mods were on. How long can you be active on the server everyday? Pretty much daily. I do have 2 jobs and school, so I have a lot of life to balance with Skyblock. My daily hours will probably be from about 6:30PM - 10:30PM during weekdays. 7:00PM-10:00PM on Saturdays, and Sundays will probably have the bulk of the hours for me. (I'm usually free all day) How long have you been playing skyblock.org? Off and on since at least May 2013 Do you have any past experience as a moderator? I have done babysitting, been involved in a class centered around dialogues (basically "debating" but we would attempt to get common ground on devisive issues), and was a mentor at a CODA Youth Camp in New York. I also want to add that there are a few things that I will not be doing in the course of this application I will not be asking other players (in-game) to support / view my mod app, with the exception of mentioning the app in public chat. (I don't want anyone to be guilted into supporting) I will respond to any and all (serious) questions posted. I will take into consideration any (serious) suggestions that players or staff bring to me here. Sorry for wall of text.
Partial Support: Lack of Detail Need some Color Could add some things about you Never seen you in-game Overall Good Application.
Partial support You're active. (Very) You're also very mature. But I don't usually see you so active in chat, but I'm sure that can change ! Anyways. Good luck!
I tend to watch chat when I'm building - if the convo turns into something interesting, I'll join. But sometimes I like the quiet. :3 I don't necessarily see why it needs color for a mod app, unless you just mean to make the wall of text more readable. When you say lack of detail, do you mean details about myself?
Support, -I've seen you on almost every time I've been on. -You seem very mature. -Your application is very detailed and I don't see any grammatical errors at the moment. Best of luck.
Lol, it's coming - it's a big project okay? ;-; Is it bad if I consider this very important? >.> <.< Thanks for support. :3
Partial Support. The application is mostly good, but you have to add a lot more to the qualifications. I also see you in game a lot, which is good. You also have to be more active on the forums.
I'ma stick with a partial. You've very active, as I've seen people say, it's just that I don't see you help out much in chat.
Noted. Thank you for the suggestion. Will be pondering what other qualifications I actually have regarding moderation. And I'm aware of my lack of forum presence, but thank you for pointing that out. c: I'm a fan of larger sizes fonts for readability - not everyone has the best eyesight. Well, that may be because we're not on at the same time, usually. (From what I've seen) Thank you for the feedback.
