Its never been forbidden, except that you use the material for yourself only. Don't trade or drop sand/gravel from a gen.
Selling sand is illegal, go to this post to see what else is. Comprehensive list of illegal trade items | SkyBlock
Yes. Do not sell, trade, gift, drop, etc. duped items (which means two items, sand and gravel... plus the sand derivatives, such as glass, sandstone, & smooth sandstone: blocks, stairs, slabs, panes, etc.).
I have an industrial sized sand generator, my whole island is sandstone, lapis, glowstone, ect. 25 sand per second. It's pretty good, but it jams a bit too often for my liking. For the time being there are only two working sand generators that I know of: Tutorial: How to build a sand generator producing more than 25 sand/ sec in Minecraft 1.3 ! - YouTube The other one I couldn't find, but it's the one I use and uses less redstone, but it jams every now and then. If you want to build my version message me in-game.
Mine gives me roughly 15 per second, but I don't have a need for sand at the moment, so I don't need it any faster. I'm just collecting it and creating loads of smooth sandstone for future use.
TRADE: Sand 1. Sand and its derivatives (including glass, sandstone, etc.), are not to be traded, dropped, gifted, transferred, etc. 2. Player can make sand generators for their personal use on their own islands. 3. Sand gens are exclusively for your island/coop. 4. All sand/sandstone/glass stays only on your own island! . 5. Sand can often be obtained at /warp trade, from Skyblock Villagers. This is what Jeff wrote, so that answers your question..
No, me and him have been arguing this for awhile now. I'm still trying to get crew to give official word on this.
Noobkilla is right, if there is a question of Skyblock game rules, it's noobcrew's decision (nc is not only the server owner, but the author of Skyblock) .
But for now you can still trade the derivatives of sand? Or we are not able to trade it, because we have to wait what Noobcrew will say?
We have been arguing that glass is allowed to trade, because it also takes charcoal to cook it. (Yes, I call it cooking.)
But that doesn't change the fact that members could potentially have looted an island for it. Hell, they could have looted the tree to make the charcoal too.
Sand Gens The Sand/Gravel gen question was asked of Noobcrew, regarding the use & trading of items from Sand Gens, and anything the dup'd sand is used for. Answer: Duplicated items come from a bug, and are not intended to become part of the game economy in any way. They have been allowed to be used as construction material for a player's own island. Any player who desires to use sand, sandstone, glass, gravel, etc. for their own private use, is allowed... but not to be shared with others /used off your island. All items which come from Sand/Gravel Gens, including all sandstones, glass stuff, etc. can be used on your own island only (where the sand gen is located), but not traded, dropped, or taken off your island. re:Noobcrew, 28 Oct 2012
