allow shop signs on sides of chests

Title says it all, I'm te kind of weird person that would like to place the shop signs on the side of a chest rather than in front of it. I've never quite understood why this isn't a thing?

 

Support. I noticed I can't add the tradeshop sign to the side of the chest yesterday and I had to redo my chests and it was really upsetting and annoying, though allowed us to add the tradeshop signs on the chest would really be great : D

It could be more better for player's chests as the new sign change.

 

I can't actually support because my post count isn't high enough, but if I could, I would 100%.
This would also allow for a maximum of 6 trade shops in one chest, rather than just 2. Really useful if you have a chest selling drops from a mob with more than 2 possible drops. *Coughs* zombie pigman

Support. I'd presume this would be useful for aesthetic reasons. There aren't many faults I can find with this suggestion - because you need to click the sign in order to trade, so at the point you're doing that you can see the sign and what is written on it.

 

Support, this is a great idea and doesn’t really have any cons and I don’t see how this could have a negative impact.

Support. However I believe the plug in they are using for this will not allow for shop signs to be placed anywhere but the front of the chest. If it just a line of code I believe leeeroieee would have no issues adding it.

How would display items work if a chest could have more than one trade set up for it?

 

Maybe if you add more than the usual 2 items (for a double chest) as being sold from 1 chest you wont be able to use the display items, to stop people from getting confused. But that isn't an option, having the signs on 2(or all) sides of a chest might still help for convenience and/or ecstetic purposes.
For example my shop is set up as being a sort of market place, wich will benefit a lot from signs on multiple sides of chests.

Unfortunately, your suggestion has been declined.

The way the shop plugin is written, each shop chest has to have unique coordinates and can only have one trade and one sign. Making it so that a trade chest could have multiple trades is not something we can currently do without having to rewrite the plugin from scratch.
