I’m not sure if anyone has made a forum post with this information.( if it has been made please forward). Since I have started to play economy a little bit more I have an almost 2 layer pumpkin farm. And it has lead me to wonder how much $$ 1 layer gets you in 1 hour(or 10). I am not smart enough nor committed to actually track this so that is why I am hoping someone with the drive to do so could do it for me. Thanks in advance!
13 layers can fill up your inventory every 45 seconds on most days. That would be $1,504,051.20/day or $62,668.80/hr. 1 layer is approximately 7.5% of that, which gives us a daily total of $115,696.25 or hourly rate of $4,820.68 HOWEVER, it's worth noting that as you go up in height, you get diminishing returns - a 10 layer farm preforms *nearly as well* as a 13 layer farm. And if you go high enough, there is a max efficiency due to lost pumpkins from crophopper speed limits. So realistically a single layer farm *probably* earns more than 115k/day or 5k/hr I just don't know what the exact rate is Edit: Multiply all numbers here by 0.85 due to an unannounced drop in prices.
Just noticed the Unannounced price drop for pumpkins. Does anyone know the reason for this? It may now be more beneficial to do other crops but after spending so much on dirt that is not feasible. Seriously disappointed with this as it is a direct attack on the mainstay players of the server. The ones that spent millions on dirt to give other players cheap profit shops. Please reverse this change. There was NO reason for it.
All the talk around the time this happened was about entity count and clag firing way too often. Perhaps it was thought that this might help in the long term by driving players to other ways of making money but I don't really see that happening as they are still the most profitable thing to farm.
Even though pumpkin sell price was dropped it is not stopping people from creating entities as the meta seems to be filling your inventory as much as possible every 45sec.
As more and more players build up their farms, it will likely get to the point where, there are that many entities being produced every second that clag will clear them before them before they even reach the player.
I just want to point out that this was a 15% reduction in price, with no notice to the players, in regards to the most farmed item on the server. I struggle to understand what specifically prompted this change, and why there was no communication regarding it.
The first layer gets you four stacks after restart. I was wondering if the lowered prices might have something to do with the new hostile mob spawners to come...imagine grinders with no mob cap making you the most money and not causing any server lag...that sort of thing. So I am reserving my right to freak out and complain and whine and cry and tear my hair out and kick Dexuby in the kneecaps till we see what happens next. *folds hands on desk
