universal bans

Does anyone know anything about Microsoft’s “universal bans”? What version it will be implemented on? And if it’s not for 1.19.1- don’t update to it? Also, is this for bedrock only?

I don’t think they update the lower ones, they cut support for 1.12- I think

 

they have to do it on all versions to be fair.

 

what do they mean by

could be a good thing cause "some" servers don't have active mods and "some" have very dodgy mods

 

Maybe but banned from ALL online servers? I could see how terrorism is bad and stuff like that, but this is going to be bad, abused, and probably more hated than the 1.9 pvp update because you can get permanently banned for saying jokes, even to your friends, seemingly harmless, banned. They say they’re going to put in “temporary” bans, but it’s still the worst idea they have ever come up with imo. Also they edited “caps lock” (on their website) to “general commercial spamming”.

 

and some don't have mods, because that's their thing

 

if they have temp bans and they do it right, it will be good. if only one big company managing it, then easier that consumer protection can watch them so they will have to do it right. like they can't watch 1000's of different servers.
dont know how they manage cheating but. cause hacks are allowed here so will they ban us for using them here?

 

Ban em anyways lol… also why would someone get banned for something he said on like anarchy servers? Notoriously toxic, and filled with cheaters, if it’s one big company, they’re not going to know the rules of the server most likely, and they’ll just get flooded anyways.

 

minecraft rules will maybe over rule server rules. this website say it starts next week but might be 1.19.1 only.

no don't see why it would be. also handy to report some players. or staff even.

 

I don’t mind being banned from ONE server, I’m only complaining about being banned from the WHOLE of Minecraft multiplayer, so no anarchy servers, and server owners might (not sure how this is coded yet) be able to /sudo people to say stuff so they can get banned from mc, not sure how they will combat this.

 

there is probably some player that is just bad on all servers and will just go to a new one when banned. and if they find some pedo then good to ban them everywhere.
