Closed Sign glitch

I’ve seen this happen to a few people and I don’t know what’s happening, every time I place down a sign it automatically clicks out of it preventing the ability to write or make shops. On rare occasion i can spam a letter and have the sign place with the single letter on it but I want to make full shops. What is happening?

 

do you have fast click on or something, auto sign ?

 

Nope. I’m on Mac if that helps

 

Oh yeah I have something kinda similar happening too a few days ago.

I wanted so sign my friend's island, he trusted me on his island, gave me a sign, I right click sign to place on wall, placed on wall but no option to write anything on the sign.

It also happened to a few of his friends. It might be due to version incompatibility as the server is 1.12.2 but I haven't tried that.

Also my shop had glitches out after changing my name, like destroyed shops will reappear if there are chest in the area. Have since changed back but haven't checked if it still persists yet.

 

I'm assuming you're 1.19, if so then that's the reason, you need to downgrade 1.12 is the best for the server but 1.18 should at least allow you to post signs

 

make sure you are on 1.12.2 to get the glitch to stop
