I am going to agree with this thread, but not support it, for one main reason, but I do agree with what you are trying to say. A few players have had conversations with Crew himself such as topics very similar or the same such as this, and the response was

"I could however ask if we should look into promoting some more staff if it will help with the issue you are mentioning on how players aren't getting an adequate amount of help or support."

He also goes to say that he recognizes the inactive team members, and they help with features in the background on the developer server. Another statement is "There is some staff that just need to be apart of the team for things to function whether they login every day or do something small once a week."

I do agree with Crew on what he said in these statements, but it seems like there aren't enough day to day active staff members to provide the help the server needs on a daily basis. Crew said he would see if he could do anything to have more community involvement with helping out, and I believe this is a good start. Recognizing the players of the community who put in a ton of effort and time would be very nice, and a possible role I do agree with. However, personally I believe there should not be another role added and the helper role should just remain the way it is. I would like to see some community members obtain the helper role as some have shown weeks/months of dedication while keeping consistent activity. Every position on the team has a different role, and I do agree that the entire staff team does not have to be in-game active to fulfil there role, such as super moderator role. However, I tend to notice a ton of players seeking help for staff members in chat and requesting for staff members more than I should see, but the Discord seems to be the place to get your answers. At least 1 helper or staff member being on at all times, would promote a more civilized community and would give the players seeking for help immediate answers. The in-game aspect of the server for moderation, would be kept more frequent and consistent. For me, this suggestion is more about recognizing the players who put in a ton of work on a day to day basis, and are trying to help on all platforms as they possibly can, while their in-game activity on the current applicants sits at a very strong point. It might just be time to promote a few players to this role and to give them a chance at fulfilling this position, as months of dedication, helping, and time have been put in for some of the community members to be given a chance at helping a server they play everyday, and play Skyblock to play Skyblock.

Going back to the main idea of the suggestion though, I personally do not agree with the new role that is being suggested. This role would be given to those who have already had months or showing their commitment, while some deserve the "helper" role by itself. However, I do believe that there should be more recognition and a chance to the players who are helping in chat on a day to day basis, so I have to agree on the ideology behind this suggestion.

One of the MAIN things having a role would help with is that the player who has questions that need answering can trust that the replies they are getting are genuine since they are part of the staff team. (Also big shiny prefix saying "HELPER" make people excited heh lol.)

Its really sad to see that there are really amazing people who have applied for mod but still haven't received a reply :/. Having a few more moderators would really help with the flow and having at least 1 mod on 24/7 would be somewhat a good thing.

Thank you Emerald for the insight. I’d love for communication between staff and players get to a point where crew himself, or other staff can release updates in this manner.

Yeah, because of this, enable more people to apply for that specific role, have less entry requirements. More people = less downtime. Also have regular change of people, with the weekly/monthy reapply system. Different people different time, more chance of ansewer question. And ones who cannot work will automatically be canceld from the system, until they reapply.

Also I find the general ideology of you guys are impossible/ridiculous/asking wayy to much from mods. Like they have to go through stupid long periods of applying, fail many, many times, reapply many times, and has to be "perfect", be online all the time and do what they are supposed to do.

Like I know some people have the time for it, but from my perspective its only a few. Not even close to make a staff team. We can obviously see that ingame SB staff is already underperforming (at least in uptime), as you guys have obscene requirements for them, and they can't hit the target.

If you guys really believe it is a true and viable way I do hope it will succeed. As it is easy to ask for something ridiculous, but what are the odds of succeeding?

    My verdict is : Impossible

so many players grind and help in chat daily trying to live up to be a helper and be staff, and it is so unfair they dont get the position being as actived as they are. i agree completely w Em. it s like Noob and staff want u to do their job before u get the promotion of any level of staff. when u shouldnt have to. knowledge and repore shoulld be basis alongside activeness for becoming staff. think about it how many ppl work w out getting paid? yet so many of us help out a ton in chat and dont get a blink of an eye to become staff.

Absolutely this , could not be better said.

And it's not that people who have always helped haven't tried applying for staff, they did and they are still pursuing.

Seeing them lose hope I feel so bad and I feel like it's so unfair.

Yes, absolutely this. But same wish they will do to normal apply process. This is just an alternative.
