Closed Make water-flushing farms illegal

Anything happening with this issue? Flush farms are still running and TPS is still suffering. If they aren't going to be deemed illegal then can we all rebuild our flush farms that we took down ages ago because it badly affected the TPS?

 

I’m not sure if anything has been done to try and fix this problem, but i’ve stopped playing for a while and each time i log back on to see if it’s been fixed, it hasn’t. It’s still a problem

 

Noticed today that Lumi has started up his flush farm again. Then decided to see if Jawd was still running and it was with 100's of mobs so someone had been there. Can these farms be deleted as it is pointless banning the player if others can visit and cause the same problems.

 

Hi, I believe any farm that drops the TPS by significantly more than anyone else on the server should not go on unpunished. I guess it would be legal for 4 other people to build these flushing farms on 8 alts and drop the tps to 2, since a couple of people are currently doing so with no issues

 

Megan, bless her, has been hunting down these farms and unloading them. She has also been looking for melon farms with no lava overflow but until higher up do something about it then we just have to put up with it even though just a few players can get away with wrecking the enjoyment of the server for the masses. Sadly if it carries on without action then the masses will become just a select few who can then boast, mostly to themselves, how they managed to wreck what was once a perfectly good server.

 

You are 100% correct. I would love a massive flush farm - hold on - I used to have one but when it was pointed out the effect on the TPS, myself and numerous other players destroyed them. Getting to the point now where - if you can't beat them, join them. Obviously these farms are not illegal and running them with the knowledge that you are hurting the server is also not illegal - or is it???

 

In my eyes this falls under common sense, which is part of our Code of Conduct.
We hope that when asked and told that their account is damaging TPS or ruining QoL for other players that they would notice and amend their way of working or farming on our server.

I appreciate that this does take a lot of work to sometimes tare down old builds but everyone will receive rewards with higher TPS.

As Choco mentioned above, we have previously and will continue to unload farms that are a detriment to our server.
If for whatever reason your farm or island is unloaded, we will always /mail or /msg you so that it is not a surprise and you are made aware of the issues it is causing.
We want the QoL to improve on our server and we will all do what we can, always.
With that being said, an element of cooperation is needed from our players to assist in this process.

 

Asking some players to stop their farms when they are making the most amount out of anyone on the server might not always work

 

If it falls under the code of conduct, and therefore a rule is being broken, why are players that continually ignore this rule not being punished? As mentioned in my earlier post, someone higher up needs to make a ruling on this and either ban these flush farms or say it is perfectly ok to have them and then we will all build them. Why should just a couple of players be allowed to have them?

 

Excellent question. Wish we got an answer… this has gone on for too long.

 

Looks like this issue is either being completely ignored OR it is perfectly ok to run a massive water flush mob farm. As I type, this there is one running and the player knows that it will impact the server. So if they can do it - maybe it is time to reinstate a large flush farm of my own. I wonder what action would be taken if 15-20 players all did the same?
Hopefully the upcoming changes will make these farms obsolete - Or is it just targeting the players who followed the advice from staff, destroyed their flush farms and built cropper farms. I await the update with baited breath.

You know that when you notice someone isn't aware of a rule, you can talk to them to let them know about it. As Boarder said, Zombie_Mods is new to the economy server and didn’t know about flushing farms. As soon as he was told, he closed it, but I guess it’s easier to post here for internet points instead.

 

Inaction on things like this is simply appalling. It is so clearly evident the negative effect these things have on game play so the fact that nothing has been done has got to have you wondering if anyone gives a damn.

 

To be fair, it doesn't matter whether they're aware of the rule or not, since it's not being enforced in a meaningful way.

 

Bruh these are gonna be dead with the new update if that ever releases. The solution is there. You can all stop crying about nothing being done and just wait a couple of weeks, it's really not that bad.
