I do agree with everything you have stated here, and we as a community are still waiting on such changes to be made. A trainee process for those types of players has been in the works, but last time I have heard it was not thought all out yet, but suppose to be released end of last month/beginning of this month. I am hoping to see such a program, but I'm hoping applicants do not have to wait too long for this to come by, as some already lose their motivation due to not hearing an answer. I would compare this to a job application almost, as the helper position has the word Job in it's title. When you submit your application for anywhere, you either hear back in the coming days or weeks, or you do not get heard from at all. Some choose to apply again without hearing a response, and end up hearing a response back at some point saying they were either accepted or denied for that job. Yes, there are jobs that won't give you a call back at all if you do not meet criteria, but there are jobs out there that let you know what you did not have in your application, what you could improve on, and a chance for a re-application in the near future. A lot of the community would like to go that type of path of applications, as well as myself. It only promotes that applicant to look at their own faults, and make improvements on what the staff have commented on, as they are the ones accepting this applicant. It gives the applicants something to work for and to work on, keeping them to their fullest potential. Not hearing back for months, comes to the point where some get disinterested in the position. Same thing happens in real life, if you do not hear back from a job, you end up applying for a new one. Seeing some great applicants close their applications is very upsetting, but I do understand why. Their qualities were not being taken to accountant, and did not have the chance to prove themselves to be apart of the team. Such position as that trainee position, is a really good idea that I will stand with. As a community, we all want to hear more communication between everyone, but that does start off on the staff's end as the examples are set by the staff team for new players, as well as old players. Without such communication, players end up falling in these same habits, when we should all be open to this type of conversation, as we are only trying to make this a stronger and more fair process. I do have my hopes for Cyk's future program, but as far as I am aware these issues have been going on a lot longer than I have been back, so I do not have as much first hand experience recently with this, but from my past experiences and seeing other player's past and current experiences, it is upsetting.
I honestly never thought about stuff like this until recently and how alike it is to applying for a job, I often forget that people can have their app up for an extremely long time and have no idea they may not even be considered. I'm heartbroken for people who have ha their app up for a really long time and no idea they're fighting a losing battle. I like the concept of regular updates in the apps in the sense of helping out applicants understand what's expected of them.
> Makes application > Helpful and active in game > Staff gets promoted that isn't me > Stops helping people because its a waste of time > Shits on staff because I can be more active and do better > Still wants to be on team, i'm desperate to join > Makes threads to convince applications suck and how broken server is and how bad staff are > Demand feedback while shitting on staff some more but desperately wanting to join team > Passed up again > Doesn't understand why my shitty attitude won't get me promoted > Closes app > Writes sob story > Gets banned > Gets respect from community Support = Neutral.
"we won't ignore this thread" its been 9 months of digesting, are we calling it a pregnant pause? Considering the multiple suggestions about communication between staff and players, doesn't this just explain why its a contentious subject?
Unfortunately, some systems will never change no matter how broken they are and the pushback/attempts of resolution and change. It happens too often everywhere now
Sir you are literally permabanned and bleeding members from this server to fuel your own competing server. Grow up.
Permabanned players come back and he’s entitled to his opinion. Perhaps you should stay on topic and not publicise competing servers.
I agree i have seen in many instances that someone is told they dont meet the requirements they are looking for but they are never told what those are even when they ask i think there should be a small change the way they go about denying or rejecting apps
When some of the current staff act with disregard for the rules Drogo doesn’t believe there is much hope for a fair system.
