I definitely understand that it seems to be taking away from the vanilla game, but there are plenty of things on the server that are unobtainable in vanilla. I do agree with your proposal of 50% rate. Players also have the ability to not utilize the feature if they deem it unnecessary (if added).
In comparison with other servers, this server surprisingly is very much still vanilla with 80% or more of it's aspects being either normal vanilla gameplay or very basic server features. Once you add reverting one block, then there's no reason to not add the rest which isn't necessarily a good thing. Hoppers were given the ability to revert to iron due to limits being added and so therefore had a valid reason to give back some iron that couldn't end up being used. For any other kind of block, there is no valid reason to add a de-craftable recipe
I definitely agree with you about the server being more vanilla than most. But as the player base changes, I have found more people want QOL additions. I understand how it could turn into a difficult situation as players want more blocks to be uncraftabke.
The term QoL change I notice gets thrown a lot around suggestions, a lot of the time not in the right context. QoL is something that improves an existing issue that may not be the best when it's being used on a daily basis. There is no issue with having different quartz items and so it isn't really a QoL change to me it's just another crafting recipe added to the list that doesn't serve any real purpose
Maybe I misrepresented what I was trying to say. I was basically stating that it was more of a convenience addition than anything.
Did u read any of the posts above, its a quality of life change where people who crafted the wrong quartz building blocks would be able to make changes.
the ONLY way i would support this idea is if it were at a slight loss. like 3 quartz per broken quartz block. we need to keep some level of scarcity on items otherwise you get the same price situation as stone where you need to sell full inventories.
Support. Ive noticed more people buy nether quartz instead of blocks, this would really help when selling items.
