Hello fellow Skyblockers, Haberson here! Many of you have asked what it takes to run my shop, how much grass I have, or why I am rarely seen talking on the server. It's not that I am AFK (though I do appear AFK at times), it's just I am always busy, always doing something. (sometimes not on my main account) While I do only Skyblock while I am at work (Monday - Friday 6am to 3pm), during those hours I put in a full 40 hour work week on my shop and figured I'd share with you a day in the life of Haberson on Skyblock to give you an insight on why I may be so dang quiet? 6am - Shop Inventory First thing I do when I sign on is check the shop inventory on some of my most common shops. Usually in this order: Ores/Rares, Wood, Mob Drops, Nether/End Items, Crops, Tools/Weapons/Armor. Almost every day these items have been hit hard and need to be fully restocked. Enchanting items is the worst and takes the most time, but someone has to do it. 8am - Backstock Inventory Now that the main shops are good, I need to check how my backstock is looking. This helps me prep what I need to farm for the day. I have mega farms everywhere. Everything I sell I either produce on my own (which is 95% of my items) or other people sell to me through my buy shops. I never buy from other shops and resell, just not my style. So once I know the days farm/grind list, I log in my alts and have them AFK at their appropriate locations. 9am - Farm Cleanup Now it's time to clean up the farms from the previous days grind, especially if I am going to use that farm again today. Most of my farms produce in mass quantity so if I am going to use it two days in a row, I need to clear it out. This takes forever, DC's upon DC's of items I got to move from one island to another. Everyday I analyze my farms in ways I can improve them, not only from a performance/output perspective but ways to make them server friendly too. I know if my farms get backed up, it'll cause lag. I know if my redstone is causing too many tickets, it'll cause lag. So cleaning up my farms daily not only helps me keep organized, it helps the server out too. I've seen so many farms on so many islands that are crazy lag producers. 11am - Shop Check I know and make note of every shop that has been in existence for the last 2 years i've been playing. I keep a list of every single island that has ever had a shop and check most of them every day. I check them for what they are selling items for, how their inventory is holding up. What they're selling well, what they're not selling well. This gives me a general idea of prices around the server and who has what. What prices are manageable and what are not. Yes I see people selling Gold or Redstone Blocks for 16:1 or Iron for 3:1, but I also see them out of stock 99% of the time. I gauge this against how my shop is performing to know what the price is on the server. Every so often people will complain about a price of mine. Typically this is a normal skyblock tactic of hoping i'll change it. But my prices are pretty solid. I know what is manageable and what isn't. I know if I change my iron price to 3:1 not only will everyone buy me out (including other shop owners to resell it 2:1) but then when people come to my shop for something, I will be out of stock. And there is one thing Haberson rarely is... Out of Stock. This isn’t because my prices are bad and no one is buying. I make a killing on almost all my shops. Its because I know the price and I know what it needs to be to maintain a successful and reliable shop. 1pm - Detailed Shop Inventory Now its time to check all my less popular shops. The banners, the redstone stuff, and other non popular shops to see if they need a little boost in inventory. Crafting this stuff is a pain, but again someone's gotta do it. 3pm - Farm Check A final check in on my farms, clean up any jams, and get them in final position to AFK for the rest of the day, including my main Haberson account. Since Haberson is my only SkyTitan account, once I am done with my actual job for the day I'll put him in a farm that requires SkyTitan functionality like a StoneGen or WoodGen farm so he can self repair, and not get tired. And that's my day, its a full time job to keep one of the best Skyblock Shops always in stock, but I actually enjoy doing it and enjoy the fun times with you all on this server. If you ever have any questions or help, feel free to ask me. Always willing to help out when and where I can!
Respect to you habby! That is commitment, proud of you for how much you achieve and how much you help out
Holy cow! I never knew so much work went into such a big shop like this! That is dedication if I’ve ever seen it! Keep it up!
What a productive day! Love to see how you care for your shop and love that little routine. You’re amazing
Wow, that's impressive and super organised. Your's is certainly the shop I visit first when I am looking for something, and the mob farms are really nicely designed.
Good job Haberson, Drogo's better half often wonders how he can spend so much time (not as much as yourself) playing this game as surely it all looks very repetitive to her but there certainly is a sense of community support and achievement about it. Drogo doesn't have the commitment you have in providing the range, only dealing in a few easy to obtain items but doing it in bulk and cheap. Drogo's shop lighting system help when restocking his small shop without the need to check every chest. Drogo has considered writing a script that could be run to alert you to empty shops. If you are online but AFK when your shops are emptied the message you get in chat is stored in the logs which the script could easily search and report back any empty shops. They could even map the coordinates to a given shop item as the coords are often useless. Essentially it could very simply report all sales (that occurred when you are online) and any chests that emptied. It's not really worth it for Drogo but might save you some time each day. Not sure what your coding skills are like but if ever Drogo has a play with it, he will let you know.
It's actually insane how you run your shop. For sure most experienced shop owner in the history of skyblock... wow!
I could never really bother making a shop and keep on restocking it. So seeing you doing this shows how much dedication and persistence you have and its very impressive to say the least. xo
