I think I might be onto something here. With coinflips becoming/being a very popular method of gambling, I think if they made some kind of a command or villager you could interact with for a coin flip it would be pretty cool. For the people that do not know what a coinflip is, it is a method of gambling when you and the person you are gambling with have a 50/50 chance of either winning or losing your bet. Back to my idea; for example, instead of having to find someone else who wants to coin flip the same amount you want to coinflip and have a risk of getting scammed, developers can make a solo coinflip machine/command that works only with grass. I think it would be pretty cool, especially since the player wouldn't have to put their trust in a sketchy machine. I might be a little biased because I love coin flipping, but a guaranteed 50/50 would be pretty cool imo. They could also maybe make it available to a certain rank+ because newer players/lower ranks could be tempted to risk it all. I know other servers that have similar solo gambling machines like this, but the villagers on those servers use money from your /bal for the coinflip. Something like this would lower the risk of getting scammed by rigged machines and players, it would put less stress on moderators trying find out whether or not someone was actually scammed or just lost, and It would also give you something to do if you get bored or if you're feeling lucky. Maybe a return of /warp donor? I think its a pretty sick idea. Please share your thoughts
No support because if someone with 50 dcs coinflipped and it became 100dcs economy is inflated Which is why cf with players is a good system - not the server
lets be real, no ones gonna coinflip more than 1 DC at a time, even that is insane. I understand where you are coming from though.
I can only think of 1 player that has 50+ DCs of pure grass. 85% of the "rich" players do not have more than 5 DC's of grass just laying around haha
How would this limit be enforced as 1) people would just play again and 2) people would play again on alternate accounts , which some users have as many as 1000 of.
Maybe a daily limit of 3456 grass or something? And Ca1, I think you're forgetting its a 50/50 chance. You're acting like this is a grass duper or something. You will have the same odds to lose as you have to win so personally I do not understand why you're so against it.
I'm just saying the amount of grass could exponentially increase if a lot was gambled and won, and personally I like the current system of grass being introduced through kits, voting and (rare instance) server shop.
I think putting more grass in the economy would be good tbh. Most grass is being hoarded by rich DP head/rare item collectors, big shop owners, casino owners, and people who just don't spend their grass. Another way to earn grass could be good for the economy, but I do respect your opinion. Thanks lol
Support I've definitely considered making this a thread for a while, I think it would be really neat but as Archie stated I think this would do better on economy. While it would work and all on Skyblock, I think this would just fit better on economy but that's my personal opinion. Best of luck!
Going to go neutral. The suggestion has it's pros and cons most of which have already been mentioned by other players. I think this would have to work under certain conditions and maybe a villager/command GUI would be a cool idea to implement for this.
I can’t support this if it’s going to be server-added currency either grass or sky bucks. There’s a reason for example on economy the Server Supplied Gambling, is very low cost and very low reward. If there were to be a 50/50 chance for double the gain with infinite amount of rewards being added into the economy, inflation will skyrocket the value of grass or money downwards. As someone who loves to play casinos on eco and survival, you’d be very surprised as to how many people would gladly risk a load of balance or grass to immediately double their money. A guaranteed 50/50 chance to double your money from an infinite source is not something I want to be added to any server ESPECIALLY since it’s from the server itself. Now, if this were to be player gambling, against each other, I wouldn’t be opposed to that. I’m not a developer so don’t expect my answer to be exactly right or an easy option, but for example it could be something like the layout of the auction house on Economy, where players can put up let’s say $10,000 for someone to 50/50 with them. Another player enters that 50/50 and it will pick a random player to win both the $20,000. This allows any player to “auction” a specific amount of money where someone else can then “buy in” to that auction and have a 50/50 chance to win their money and if you lose, your money will be given to them instead. If you’re offering to input a server based 50/50 I’m not supporting it. If it’s player based with no new balance or grass introduced into the economy, then I can support that.
I like the idea behind a coin flip system for gambling, but I do believe it should have some form of limit towards how much you should be allowed to spend (this is to prevent Ca1's comment on economy inflation which would be a big problem) I will be supporting this suggestion due to the discussion in the thread solving most of the flaws with the concept (and the problems it may bring) with hopes that the addition of this system will take all of the improvements to the system into consideration and the system is implemented with positive outcomes to it!
Support as long as it is player against player not player against server Player against player doesn’t need a cap, server against player does
I'm going neutral for now, the idea is good but I agree with what other people are saying about having a limit. Without one, there'd be a player who would risk all of his grass and make a lot, more than a player casino could ever give out at once. This could also result in fewer players using actual casinos which I think is partially good due to scams and losing a lot of grass, but there would be less grass returning into players' pockets.
Thanks for sharing your guys' opinions. Like I said its just an idea but I think it would be pretty cool
