Global /friend alert toggle

hellooo, so i think the title is self-explanatory-

to make it an option for you to toggle whether or not the people on your /friend list can see if you had come online or not

i'm thinking for the command to be /friend alert toggle
(but this is jus an idea i came up with the command doesn't have to be named that)

adriansop suggested: /ftoggle or /friendtoggle for the command

 

As someone with 200+ friends I don't see alerts annoying

YES I CAN FINALLY HIDE FROM ALL OF YOU- erm support because ^^^^ and I love the presentation of being able to log on without being given so much attention hehe
its also a very useful feature and this server needs as many of these as it can get.

ahh i think you may have understood what i was implying for the suggestion differently.

i kinda meant it as having a toggle for yourself where people CAN'T see you come online to which server and whatnot, rather than you seeing all the alerts in YOUR chat if that makes sense?

did you mean there is existing toggles with /friend or in general?

personally i don't see how a friend toggle should go under the /settings (which is for islands) but i might've understood you wrong so do you mind elaborating : pleading :

 

Ah, got it, I thought you meant it as us seeing people join messages and I think a lot understood it that way, if that's your suggestion then it's another thing.
I don't understand why someone wants people to not see him coming online when they can just tab his name or /seen

 

there are different circumstances but as sly said

and i guess we all go through phases and at times we might not be feeling talkative, but whenever the alert pops up it just kinda forces someone to kinda respond i guess?

but also for example sometimes you might be in a rush and you're just online to collect your kit for a few seconds but because of the alert, you end up having to respond to friendly messages by other players.

there are different reasons, but at the same time this is a toggable feature im suggesting, so if you want to keep yours on then thats ofc fine

I support this, it's hard to ghost people when I want to on here (unlike the Discord). Everyone needs some "me" time before the world goes "Hello!"

 

yes for sure. i think ppl constantly having to see others switching between servers or relogging may bug them and on top of that some ppl may not want others to see when they come online bc they might wanna come on to do smth quick and then log off. its a good idea. support. i think not only should there be a command to toggle if others can see u going online, but also another to toggle seeing everyone else in ur friend list coming online.

I think this is a great idea, especially if you're building and are trying to focus. I know whenever I'm building I mute the chat, so I think this would be a great advancement of that. I hope this feature gets added

  • Description: For turning off all Friend alerts.
  • Variants:
    • /ftoggle ra false
    • /friend a r a f
    • /friend alert r a f
    • /friend a r all f
      • So on...
• /friend alert receive [USER] false
  • Description: Turn off alerts for a certain user.
  • Variants:
    • /ftoggle r [USER] false
    • /friend a r [USER] f
    • /friend alert r [USER] f
    • /friend a r [USER] false
      • So on...
• /friend alert send all false
  • Description: Turn off alerts being sent to others. (will NOT bypass /seen)
  • Variants:
    • /ftoggle sa false
      
    • /friend a s a f
    • /friend alert s a f
    • /friend a s a false
      • So on...
• /friend alert send [USER] false
  • Description: Turn off alerts being sent to a certain user. (will NOT bypass /seen)
  • Variants:

Just a list of formatting ideas. You can replace "false" with "f", "t", or "true".

Another variant would also be /block [USER], which would be /friend alert send [USER] false plus /ignore [USER] and /seen blocking.
