Cheers, Bdark. I had tagged him but won't complain about a second prompt :)

Is it only the banning moderator that can deal with this.
It's been 2 days banned now and no response.

Please be patient. I have a real life too and cannot be dealing with Minecraft every day. However, your ban deserves to be handled and I apologize for not replying sooner. Agent will handle this for me :)

Unless they pass it on to another Staff Member, yes. You need to be patient with ban appeals in the future as our Staff Members have other priorities in real life that they must handle. Fortunately for you, Fran has asked me to handle your appeal as he is busy with other things at the moment.

We handle many cases of users breaking the alt limit and claiming to be family. How can we be sure that you, as the father, had two accounts on and your son had two accounts on as well? In the end, it doesn't matter who owns what account or who is playing what account. The alt limit on economy is two accounts, and you had a total of four accounts online at once for your own profit. We banned two of your accounts as a result of you breaking the alt limit. Do you understand why we have an alt limit in place?

Hi Agent. I always do my best to be well aware of the rules and the rule relating to alts is copied here for me to more easily reference it.

    "ALTERNATE ACCOUNT LIMIT
We have created a limit to how many accounts one player can have online at once. You may not have any more than two accounts on Economy or four accounts on Skyblock at once. This includes the account you are using and one other account."

The rule clearly states that the limit is two accounts per player. Not simply 2 accounts as you mentioned. So it really does come down to who owns the accounts and how many players there are.
Now I understand that there is no easy way for me to prove that I and my son own two accounts each, just as there is no easy way staff to prove otherwise. In actual fact, I have two and my son and daughter have one each. My daughter doesn't play this server so my son uses it. (I often use them both on the Skyblock server)

I know this to be fact and given the wording of the rule, I know that it has not been broken. I made sure I was well aware of the rule before my son logged in.
If the rule was as you have said, then I would have just pulled my alt so I could play with my son.

As for proving the ownership of the accounts all I can think of, is to ask you to look back through my conversation history as there have been a few instances where I, on my main forum account, 'KhalDrogo', had conversations with my son, 'Nomadatron' dating back over 4 years ago. Whether you consider this as proof or just a crazy old guy talking to himself I don't know.

Perhaps the rule needs rewording as there is no way for either me or you to prove ownership of accounts, but as it stands, neither me or my son broke it.

Even though my son and I haven't broken any rules and I feel that this appeal should be accepted, I understand the can of worms it may open in setting a precedent for others to say, "oh yeah, I play with my 7 brothers, 2 aunts and the guy that lives in the cellar." I also accept that there is no real way for you to police it.

Given this, I'm happy to go forward only playing two accounts per household.

It is disappointing that both my son and I cannot play an alt each and profit as others do, as that is pretty much the aim of the game. More disappointing is that I likely won't play with my son much for this reason. He plays other servers and I enjoyed the idea that he would play with me on this one.
Fortunately he hasn't purchased any ranks on Eco.

If I may ask a question fran. On what information did you base the ownership of the accounts in question?

Everyone on the server AFK's for the same purpose fran. Making money is the main idea of the game.
We are on the same island because I set it up for us to both make money together. We are family so there should be no surprise there.

I have no idea of the algorithm behind the /alts command but I can tell you it clearly doesn't take account of people who live together and therefore is not a effective tool for determining who are alts. I suspect all it does is groups account names that have at any stage shared the same IP.

I have been an honest player on this server for many years and have provided some proof that I and my son are two different people. I would hope that this counts for a bit more than a simplistic algorithm that is clearly very limited.
