Because this would be completely ridiculous, like WhatsApp notifying you every time someone looks at a chat someone had with you... It would be pointless and reduce privacy.

That's why Whatsapp has it in the first place - some people like chaos.

I don't see why it'd be pointless as they have to cater to everyone, they can't just ignore people's wants if a large number of people want it. [Other major server]'s Skyblock has it, so why can't we?

The WhatsApp paragraph doesn't make sense to me (I don't understand what you are trying to say).
What would be the point? What what the use even be?

Some people just randomly visit other peoples island to try to find a good deal or something. People already annoy me enough when I visit them when they are online.
In my opinion it would make much more sense to instead log the purchases a player makes.

Take Instagram as another example. Do you get notified when someone checks out your profile? No, why would you. You instead get notified when someone likes a post

They have done that a lot of times already.

The suggestion implies that you can disable it, I don't see why its a problem for it to be added. It's especially useful to those who own small shops and value every customer.

I have to agree with you on this one lmao

Well, I don't have anything against it if the visitor can turn it off, however from what I heard I understood that only the island owner can turn it off, which I am against.

How would that help those small shops more than showing them who actually bought from them? If I just check out a shop, no one has to know about it.

You could say the same thing with pretty much everything. When you walk into a store, nobody has to know about it, yet the store owner's still going to welcome you and the odd one out will show you around the store.

I don't get why we're arguing. All I'm saying is that people want this, and it is disable-able and ????

And that is why I don't support this. What would a legit use even be?

It would benefit people and it has no downsides? Honestly just looks like no supporting to be difficult and different.

Well how would it benefit people? Server team is known for not implementing changes because of the effort. I personally would prefer people not to get notified when I visit their island because I mind my own business.

If it's able to be disabled on both sides, then sure, why not.

you could also make it like a log where you can see who the last few people that visited where

I don’t get your points, the visitor isn’t affected in the slightest by this addition. Only the island owner will get notified when someone visits their island, I don’t see what’s so difficult to understand about that. It’s disableable, meaning if the island owner doesn’t like this addition, there can be no change at all, there’s no change to gameplay, there’s no change to your sanity, most players rarely get visitors anyway so I don’t see why it can’t be added for the people who’d want it, and by the looks of it that’s a 37/2 margin.

If Skyblock on Hypixel has it, why can’t we? It doesn’t change gameplay, it doesn’t change much actually - a nice cosmetic change.

i agree it seems like a nice idea and it seems like it would be easy to turn it off when you want just like locking a island
