I know we technically aren't supposed to make Discord suggestions here, but I see no damage in doing so. If any mod here is a forumnazi then sure move this thread to Discussion, but at least forward it to Fun (the discord admin)

Change InviteManager's Prefix
Pile and I added this bot in November on mission by Crew since the Skyblock discord was experiencing severe problems with DM advertising and bots. The prefix was however never changed so whenever you type !rank, you get both a message from Mee6 and InviteManager. Change InviteManager's prefix to -

!config prefix -



Give Nitro Booster Some Perks:
I'd say give the Nitro Booster role all the permissions the level roles get. This means perms to change nickname, use external emojis, have embeded links and send files. Crew also wanted this himself in 2019, but I'm Mineversian not Skyblockian so Skyblock got nothing. Boosting the Discord server should be rewarding. Currently you only get a coloured name.



Add More Bots
Not everyone will use them, but I don't see what damage it does to add them.

Funny you should say this redstone but these are a lot of the things I suggested to fun the other week through dms. I’m really not a fan of Rythm bot and much prefer groovy. Pokecord is my favourite discord bot and I actually built my own server around it which eventually hit 4,000 members after many efforts for finding sponsorships. I also suggest that the security needs to be improved. Having a verified phone number is all well and good but many tokens can bypass this making the server vulnerable to these bots. I suggest using YAGPDB in order to make a second verification system.

I’ll go into each of my suggestions in more depth:

1. Bring back #memes (This one is most unlikely going to happen) or at least a channel where people can send pictures to one-another.

2. Allow people to send pictures in the help chat. This allows users to explain their issue a lot more. A picture speaks a thousand words!

3. Add some interactive bot channels. Bots could include pokecord.

4. Replace rhythm bot with groovy. I believe groovy has higher quality sound, and is less buggy. Rhythm often removes songs from a playlists on its own or wipes it entirely and Groovy only does this if the song is demonetised by YouTube or if the video has inappropriate words in the title.

5. Add more perks for Nitro Boosters.

6. Add a more secure human verification system.
This prevents tokens from being invited of which have cracked or the same phone numbers. This was added to my server after almost 3000 bot tokens were added. We had to prune the people in the server who hadn’t been online 7 days after that. We ended up losing almost 100 of our actual members after that.

With this example, users have to press on the green tick in order to access all channels in the server.

 

Neutral, don't have discord but I think having 2 things on the same command could get annoying.

 

Though I see what this would prevent, it would equally mean you could make bots click that reaction and suddenly be able to message and DM anyone. (Having a role makes you bypass the verification level). You'd need the messageID beforehand though which means it would be a focused attack, which I doubt most botspam in Skyblock is.

Bots PMing people was what Crew wanted patched back then and who/where the bots came from, which is why InviteManager was added.

I don't know how big of a problem spambots are in the server now, but from the sound of it, it has always been DM advertising. Verifying by clicking a reaction isn't really going help that much either as bots can still get the server members and DM them without clicking it



Either way I agree with your other points and suggestions and wouldn't personally mind the verification thing either, but I doubt it'll happen. I will say that Crew was looking at making an ingame verification for Discord back in November, but he never followed through with it. I think that would work better than ticking of a reaction. -\_(o.o)_/-

I'm also working on a couple other things.

We're not going to do this just because it was removed for a reason, sorry! Also, for pictures, they can just DM those.
