I have only been playing Minecraft for about a year, and stumbled across the concept of Skyblock after only having played single player and on vanilla servers. This is the 4th or 5th server I've joined and I must say that it is incredible. I have also been reading through these forums quite a bit and have come to realize that you have quite a good community as well. I basically joined to view some of the pictures that were posted but after poking around a bit I have quickly come to the conclusion that it would be a mistake not to post and get to know many of you. I am on the older side at 34 years old, and as I work in a middle school, I definitely don't have time for middle school drama in my hobbies. So I will be avoiding drama and the people that cause it. Lastly, I plan on trying to make a splash in this game. After visiting several islands, I am going to try to build something that really has wow factor because I have seen so many amazing things around the Skyblock world. Keep up the good work in game and I look forward to speaking to many of you on here and in game. On a side note, you may be wondering how a 34 year old male ended up with the name Golden_Belle. As I was sitting there and tasked with creating a username for this account (and couldn't think of one) I happened to look down and see my 6 month old Golden retriever puppy (named Belle) and that became the username. Thank you all for the welcome, I see how helpful you guys can be and I will definitely be posting in the help section in the future when I have questions. A quick question about discord. I have one, is accessing the Skyblock discord worthwhile? In my experience Discords tend to be a little (or a lot) more toxic than forums in general. Additionally this seems to be a pretty active forum. Would you recommend I join the discord?
If you want to hear and talk further to other members then I recommend doing so! It's always/mostly active and with the voice calls it's just easier to reach out. Also, you can ask for help there too in the help section.
Hey there, welcome to the forums! I’m glad you’ve found Skyblock, I personally enjoy it because of the freedom it allows you. There’s no set way to play; you can focus on building pretty islands, functional islands, or alternatively you can set your efforts on being successful within the economy.
