Since a player has recently 'lost' a guardian spawner due to him mining it without knowing he has to request for a manager to move it for you, I'm suggesting adding some sort of warning before breaking it. Maybe it can also be applied to other spawners that can be changed using an egg spawn like parrots and horses too? So people won't lose guardian spawners for nothing.

To clear it up, the warning might pop up on chat or on the screen itself (preferably) once the player attempts to break it which doesn't allow him to do so in the first try but can allow him in the second try if they want to lose it lmao.

Or make the guardian spawner itself unbreakable, and the only way to move it or get it is via requesting a manager to do so for you.

sounds smart, or maybe even if the developers can liniment a way to not allow the player to break it at all. Some may not see the message.

Support, this has the potential to save people a lot of stress.

My only question is, when would it notify them? Once they’ve hit it with a pickaxe? It might be too late by then, especially if the warning appears in chat.

I wonder if it’s possible to do a warning which covers the whole screen, like an island welcome message.

Don't think it would be that easy,

Support, Maybe there should be a lore beneath the guardian spawner were you hover on it?

Support for sure, wouldn’t it be easier on staff/management time to add a custom recipe to turn guardian spawner into guardian spawn egg? You break it once and it stays a guardian spawner right? But again a warning for people would be handy, maybe add it to the chat info roster.

Yeah maybe it'll appear infront of their screen once they're about to break it then a warning pops out that prevents them from breaking it the first time. Or at least make the guardian spawner not breakable at all or something to avoid the issue and only make it breakable/movable by the managers

Full support. Seeing as this is one of the most expensive in game items that is still available to obtain, i can't imagine breaking it and losing it. A warning will keep people from mining them or maybe even make guardian spawners unable to mined by players.

I'm not sure why this hasn't been added.

I have seen numerous reports of people breaking their guardian spawners and then ending up with a pig spawner because they had no idea that they would lose such a valuable item in such a dumb way. Every single time this has happened a member of staff says the guardian spawner can not be tracked with log block, therefore requiring them to send proof they owned a guardian spawner.

I've also seen a situation where someone told the player "you should've had a member of staff move it for you". How in the world was that certain player supposed to know they would lose the spawner by breaking it?

Why has there been no system in place to warn players before breaking a guardian spawner whatsoever? The staff KNOW that the guardian spawners are untraceable with logblock and they KNOW how valuable of an item they are on the server. It's so irresponsible and just overall rude to the players who had no knowledge that they would lose their spawner if broken. Some people pay actual money towards legendary keys in order to obtain the guardian spawn egg, yet, even though numerous amounts of players have reported losing guardian spawners the same exact way, there's been nothing done about it.

I apologise for my tone, but this particular situation really bothers me.

    Absolute support.

Yeah, I agree. If they don’t add a warning, then they should at least look into making it show up on the logs.

If you were to break a guardian spawner and it dropped the egg itself or another guardian spawner you can replace somewhere else, I reckon this would lead to a lot of problems for the staff team. As most of you say, we cannot log guardian spawners from say, a sheep spawner. If we allowed players to mine the guardian spawner themselves, they could easily move it to their own island, or an alt island or even trade it with another player. This is probably why we have the process in place at the moment, where all guardian spawner activity is approved through staff managers. By allowing players to mine them, it risks everyone on the server who owns a guardian spawner and it's not worth it.

I completely agree with the fact that there should be a warning when trying to break this, it would be better in the long-run for players because they will be happy they didn't lose hundreds of diamonds worth. What would be better than a warning though, would be to just disable breaking guardian spawners completely. Exhibit A is the nether, where you cannot take lava from the lava lakes with an empty bucket, or you cannot mine magma either. If a similar process was put in place for guardian spawners, this would be a lot easier and would lead to a much better experience for the players - they don't lose their guardian spawners!

It's not entirely clear how to move guardian spawners anyway, I'm not aware of any place that says we need to contact a manager, but always make sure you contact one to move it or break it for you!

    Support.
