Implemented Island level algorithm

If someone finds a block with an unjustifiably high level and seeks to exploit this to gain a high island level then Drogo would imagine it breaks the first server rule listed. Server Rules: Skyblock | Skyblock Forums

Abusing Exploits/Bugs

Abusing exploits or bugs within the game, especially if done to gain any sort of unfair advantage, is against our server rules. If you happen to come across a bug or exploit, please report it here, and do not attempt to recreate it unless directly asked by an administrator to do so. Punishments can range from a simple verbal warning, all the way to a permanent removal from the server, depending on the severity of the situation.

 

It doesn’t cause an unfair advantage as anyone could do it, lol

 

It boosts your island level in a manner that is clearly not justified. Not everyone can do it. Only those happy to break the server rules. Does Drogo really need to point out the obvious?

 

Given how many bans you have had monster, Drogo is not surprised when you disagree with a direct quote of the server rules.

I disagree with what you said not the server rules, specifically the top part and I did have more levels then you, I just didn’t update it I had 65600 blocks placed which if you do the math is 6662 levels plus the 5686 I had before equals 12k well over what you did have

 

So making a large number of blocks and placing these blocks is exploiting?

The term "Exploits" here is mainly used to describe item duplication/spawning involving a certain method of breaking a plugin to max your gain from it. An example of this is j86 duping diamond armor using mob arena.

No not at all or we’d all be guilty of it. But taking an easy to obtain block with unjustifiably high value and placing heaps of them is.
In fact Drogo was one of the first to exploit this when he raced to the top of the leaderboards when it first came in by creating an island sized slab of ice about 30 layers deep.
Drogo knew it was not what was intended by the leaderboards and so was not surprised when ice was nerfed.

 

Regarding what Drogo said, it was merely an interpretation, it was not claimed as fact so not something that can be disagreed with unless you feel you have a better idea of Drogo’s thoughts than Drogo does.
If you didn’t update then you didn’t pass me on the leaderboards which is exactly what Drogo said.

 

There is a leaderboards for a reason.

Drogo never said it was a bug. RedstoneTrails said it was a bug and Monster has agreed with that. We saw what he was making with the blocks. Huge island sized slabs, so nothing of any purpose.
Don’t for a second think you know Drogo. Drogo is not mad in fact he finds it quite amusing. Believe it or not some people like to debate/argue.

 

Tfw you only had 1k noteblocks placed compared to monster’s 5 dcs yet they all were still removed

The person with the high level does. More exposure on /leaderboards = more potential customers.

He’d be kidding himself. There is no way to dive into the minds of each players visiting without vigorously questioning them yourself.

 

The way that the island level is calculated has been changed.
