Anybody know what the odds are on getting silk touch.iv been trying for a week now.been going through alot of lapis and books.my xp is over 100..is there a day and time to get this or do you just have to be lucky..what the odds
Ok iwill keep trying.maybe I need to put more book shelves around it.or hold my toung to the left or stand on my head..I have been going through alot of books and lapis.its costing alot of lapis.it would be cheaper to buy it
You cannot use silk touch books on Independence Pickaxes, as it'll mess up their name. You can, however, still enchant them in an enchanting table to get silk touch without losing the lore. Generally, odds for silk touch on a diamond pickaxe are around 1/6 - 1/10 when using a max level enchanting table. The odds hold true for any enchanting table who's max is above level 15 (the minimum level at which you can get silk touch). If you want to increase your odds of getting silk touch, you can add additional enchanting tables around you, each with varying max levels. I personally use two enchanting tables, one with a max level of 30, the other with a max level of 20. When enchanting, I check for silk touch books and silk touch diamond pickaxes in both enchanting tables before putting a level one junk enchant on a book to reset the enchants. I will generally get 15-18 silk touch enchants per stack of books, usually using a little less than two stacks of lapis.
