Declined Thread bumping

I think the word is "thread bumping", which means that "Thread bumping" is the act of posting in a thread, with the sole goal of getting it back to the top of the thread list.
Can I suggest that there be an option in your thread options area that there be a switch to prevent that from happening.

Are you sure its not possible?

 

I found this add-on which prevents the thread starter from bumping until a certain amount of time has passed (they can still reply to others), but that's about it.

 

Can’t this be easily bypassed by asking a friend to bump it for you? (I’m not trying to sound rude in any sort of way here, just genuinely interested in your opinion)

 

I just checked and I could buy the lock thread option lol, I never really looked at account upgrades till now, Thanks for letting me know

I think you misunderstood what I said because why would I ask a friend to bump the post when I don't want it bumped? Thats like, totally the opposite thing I want to happen.

Yea, I think the players should be able to have the tread bumped when he or she wants to. Not automatically.

 

Like what Krissy said, We might get asked by someone who needs help, We could make this in the Help section, but not other categories.

 

This is unfortunately not something we are currently looking at implementing. The forums is a free place where all members of the community are free to post as long as they are in line with our forums rules and code of conduct. We cannot prevent players bumping your thread if they have useful feedback. I don't actually understand a scenario where this would be necessary, because people generally reply to threads (the whole point of the forums). If you don't want anyone to post on your thread, you can always ask a staff member to lock it or you can mention it in the original thread post and ask staff to delete messages that come after it. Hopefully this all makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion though!
