Adriansop's staff application

After a while of consideration, I decided to make a staff application.

I live in the Netherlands.

What languages do you speak?
Dutch, English, French and Romanian. However, I have restricted reading and writing skills in the Romanian language.

Do you have 2FA enabled?
Yes

Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? (i.e. recording software, screenshots, etc)
In-game screenshot maker and an in-built video recorder is what I have.

Why do you think you should become a staff member?
I hope I can keep my thoughts short as I only have simple reasons for wanting to become a staff member.

My goal is to ultimately represent the server and be a good role model to players so they may choose to do the right thing. I wish to help players understand our rules and ensure their safety by being involved in reducing harassment and bullying. I intend to show respect to the players I moderate as this is important in having a good relationship with the community and staying down to earth, and I will put aside personal bias as much as possible when moderating to ensure I am being fair.

Aside from wanting to help players achieve their skyblock goals, I can provide skills which will improve in keeping the server fair. For example I have extensive casino and redstone knowledge which can be used to detect gambling related scams. These type of scams are often difficult to detect. Having game knowledge allows me to assist in different ways that are as important as answering general questions and handling issues.

As an honest player and member of the community I can be trusted with the responsibility of being staff.

How long can you be active on the server everyday?
Couple hours a day.

How long have you been playing Skyblock?
I have been playing the new skyblock for over a year now. Used to play in 2015 as well for a bit.

Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game)
Yes, twice in-game.

Do you have any previous moderation experience?
If being leader in a Clash Royale clan is considered to be a valid 'moderator' experience, then yes. Otherwise, no.

Do you meet the requirements for staff?
Yes

 

I believe that a long explanation as to why someone wants to become mod is now rather irrelevant. People show why they want to be a mod through their actions on the server. When writing an application I feel like a short but concise answer says as much as if the applicant were to add fluff and extra things that people won't read anyway.

Support, you would make a great addition to the team

 

Your knowledge of redstone and casinos would be very beneficial to the staff, and help take away from the amount of people asking me to check if a casino is a scam lol

You somewhat have a history of spamming people or asking sarcastic questions, so myself and others struggle to know when you're being genuine or not. Your experience with Adrian may not line up with the common player's experience because of that.

 

Enough. If such actions took place then they should be reported to staff in a player report or to the police so they can be handled. Otherwise all this is doing is creating rumours and drama for the sake of it. There is obviously far more to the story that should be properly discussed elsewhere. There is no need to start “exposing” people on their mod apps.
And before anyone gets annoyed, yes, mods can see all feedback deleted or not.

 

Please, no more drama. As Krissy already said, if there is something important to talk about, keep it in private with the person you do not agree with or report something to proper authorities.

The only thing people should post in mod applications is how the aspiring person can possibly become a good addition to the staff team.

This is NOT the place for accusations. This is final.

 

The managers make the final decision on candidates. You are allowed to bring an issue up with them. The point is that causing mass drama is not beneficial to the community. And it derails the focus of these applications. There is nothing wrong with voicing your dissent of an application. The problem is how you do it. If you cannot leave constructive criticism, your post does not belong here. We have said the same message about unnecessary drama in other staff application threads.

Just truly think about how you can use your knowledge to best serve the community. Causing mass chaos is not the way. Talk to someone who has the proper authority to deal with things.
