Redstone contraptions can be quite helpful for both beginners and experienced players. This thread is designed to showcase several useful and cheap (?) redstone systems that can be used on all islands. Share any useful devices you think would be helpful * If you can improve on any of the designs, feel free to post your findings * #1: [Tilable/Modular] Item Sorter Description: This item sorter is better than more common versions as it only requires one hopper per double chest of items. The double chest can be made up of a combination of up to 54 different items (one per slot) Images: In series (items travelling left): The input circuit is on the right (slows down the item flow): Pros: Relatively cheap, can sort up to 54 different (stackable) items per module, very compact and simple to build/replicate. Cons: Slow (hopper speed), trapped chests required for every second module (can power the droppers while its sorting) and it requires a secondary system for the input to prevent breakage. Required materials (per module) 2 Chests (every second module requires 2 Trapped chests [1 iron]) - avg. 0.25 grass per module 1 Hopper - avg. 3-4 grass per module 1 Powered rail - 0 grass per module 1 Redstone dust - 0 grass per module 2 Observers - 0.5 grass per module 3 Droppers - 0 grass per module 5 Blocks (Eg. stone bricks) - 0 grass per module 2 Comparators - 0.5 grass per module = total price of approximately 4-5 grass per double chest module Required materials (input system, only need one) 1 Dropper - 0 grass 1 Hopper + 1 Chest (optional, chest goes on top of hopper) - 3-4 grass *this is for convenience, but is recommended* 4 Repeaters - 0-0.5 grass 1 Comparator - 0-0.5 grass 2 Redstone torches 12 Blocks (Eg. stone bricks) - 0 grass = total price of 4-5 grass #2: What next? Note: This item sorter still works, but it is very slow. There are better versions available which still only use 1 hopper per 54 different items
I can uppload my own Budswich design later and a smal Bud/Tflippflop combined design later IF anyone whant
