Couldn’t upgrading to 2 hosts reduce lag and also allowing a higher player count, we could spread the servers across 2 hosts, I know this can be time consuming and expensive but if we had a higher player count limit with less restrictions and did some advertising it could overall boost the number of players joining making it possible to have 2 hosts.
If you cannot stand it leave. Also I believe you don’t even know what it is to host a server, just because MCPH has good advertisement for “unlimited players” ( this is impossible btw ) doesn’t mean it is true. The lag doesn’t come from the servers host itself but from the plugins ( I don’t know if you know what that word means but let’s hope you do ). Each plugin is made with its purpose but some plugins may cause the “lag” that you’ve apparently experienced for so long. Btw don’t tell us that you are ranked no one cares mate.
•How to Reduce Lag | Altitude Community •Reducing Lag on Minecraft Survival Servers – BreakdownCraft Maybe read the articles above. As for what I've read in some comments, Noobcrew is at max specs. Even if we could increase it, it's only gonna shift the problem instead of being solved. I found these articles to be allthough not very in-depth on all parts, yet enough to show you that skyblock.net is very likely just one of the many servers experiencing the same lag we do. Justmatt already mentioned why there are servers still running smoothly with higher popularity (go find his comment in this thread somewhere). Maybe if we stopped being arrogant and actually train ourselves to think smarter about our in-game behaviour regarding 'lag-machines' as discussed in the articles, we would in addition finally enter an age where a bigger portion of our player base actually has brains (pun intended). Stop picking on the mods. They have done a lot, now it's our turn.
