I've said this couple of times in the past and I would like to get some assistance in replacing the current laptop I have right now. The Specs of my laptop are listed so feel free to take a look at them and lemme know which is best for me. Feel Free to leave any feedback :D

I am trying to get that laptop out of my household asap. I am not willing to repair it as the repair guy said it's not work it considering there might be a design flaw.

The laptop I use is mainly used for school, youtube, browing the web, some video editing, as well as casual games like Minecraft and CS:GO. So basically an All in one.

Currently I am looking at these potential replacements:

HP Pavilion from Best Buy Lenovo 330S from Best Buy

Acer Aspire 5 Acer Aspire 5 with i3

I do have to ask, are you limited to having to need a laptop? or is the option to make a budget computer there.

    Looking at both options here.
Nowadays 4gb of ram isn't really cutting it anymore, I'm unable to tell if the HP pavilion has 4gb dd3 or ddr4, so i'm assuming thats also 4.

I'd go for this sale instead https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QKWTZ4B/ref=psdc_13896615011_t2_B07RJ687N3

Putting you up with a 1tb drive and 8gb of ram. ( Also seem to be able to pick the ssd option if you so fancy )

Seems to be around the same price point.

the reason for adding those extra gb of ram is that chrome currently eats up a lot, so do other browsers so for that true "smooth" feel you'd wanna have a bit to spare.

I'd say everyone should at least TRY another browser such as Opera or Firefox if you have only used Google Chrome. maybe you will like how much faster they are, and that they consume less PC resources. I know this is a bit off-topic, but I cannot help very much when it comes to laptops since I do not have much experience. I can however tell you that if possible, build a PC. Do you really need a laptop? If you get a PC you can put in/change in future whatever you want. Also you won't have to deal with terrible temperatures or even noise that you get in low-end laptops when playing games. If I was you, I'd build a PC 100%. Now, if you want a laptop for travelling or just carrying around, don't resist buying one. I just expressed my thoughts on the specific topic.
Oh and please for the love of god don't use Chrome ktnxbye

I was a fan of Firefox on its early days, it was kinda slow and not the best. But I tried it again about a month ago and I saw MASSIVE improvements. I'm an Opera user and seriously thinking to switch to Firefox, just for a change. I've also heard that Firefox is also a very safe browser. You probably haven't tried it yet.

The laptop you provided is the same as mine in terms of RAM and Storage but the processor is even worse lol

Even my i5 could do more even more things than the A6 :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
I do need a a laptop. All I am doing is looking for one that is a good replacement for the current one. I'll upload some pictures of what it looks like.

The Lenovo one I plan to add a 8 GB RAM so that it can multitask better and edit videos with ease:D

Not sure if I should replace the 4 GB or simply add it to the 4 GB currently installed

Who the hell used Firefox in 2019 lmao. I've never heard of anything good about Firefox. Never used Opera so can't give an opinion on that lol

If I get that laptop we brothers

I added some pictures of my laptop. I'll add better ones tomorrow. These are the ones I could get from my phone lmao

You put a budget for around 300, don't expect giant upgrades. The benchmarks for said CPU are quite inconsistent. n44,400 vs n342 .

    A few points.

Adding ram does not equal ease with video editing.
    2x4gb is better then a 1x8gb.
If adding ram, make sure they match its better to have twice the same speed to avoid conflicts.

futhermore if you truly want a bit more "beef" save up a bit more and just suck it up what you have now. Shelling 300 for a laptop you plan to use daily isn't the smartest move.

You can either just take my advice, or choose to ignore it but your arguments made no sense whatsoever, I suggest just watching a few videos of LinusTechTips to get you up to speed with what you should look for.

edit: also, how come you listed your laptop as a 2013 model, yet the comparison you linked is of a 2014 intel cpu?

I'll look into the ram you have suggested :p

If I were to render videos, and edit videos faster it would, that's what I meant :p

For a short time period, I edited videos on my family's PC which has 12 GB of RAM and was able to render a lot faster than what I did on my laptop. Compared to my laptop I was editing a 13 minute vlog and adobe Premiere CC 2019 would freeze constantly. The amount of time it took to render the videos on my laptop is slower than what I used on PC (For both I was using Adobe premiere pro 2.0 the very early version). I am not exact on the differences but it may have to do with the ram along with the processor.

I have no clue tbh. I purchased the laptop in 2013 however never opened it in 2014. It could be a different update on the processor? Not exactly sure.

For a laptop, around 300-500. Pretty much how my old laptop was worth in 2013 lol

Dell G3 Series 15 Inch Thin Gaming Laptop | Dell Australia

Dell G3, In Murica it might be around $500 or so, but hell it has a GPU unlike all of the other laptops people have suggested

It might not make it "easy", but it sure as hell improves it. Programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas take up an absolute jack-a** amount of memory, and for someone like me who has to use a Surface Pro with 4 gb of ram it's pretty damn hard. If I run Photoshop and Premiere Pro at the same time, one is sure to crash due to lack of memory.

    ^^ This.

I'm saving $1200 (maybe $800 for you mericans, maybe 650 pounds for the british) for a G3 because computers in Australia are more expensive that a car or a decent phone (I mean, I only have a 6S and I'm happy with it. I enjoy my headphones jack).
It cost one of my best friends almost $1600 for the same specs in a desktop, except with an i7-7700k and 16GB of RAM. note: he's also had to spend an extra $200 on 2 TBs of hdds as his main one got corrupted (F).

Anything's better than Microsoft or Alienware because:
Microsoft's hardware just motherf***ing sucks. I've had a Surface Pro 3 years for school, had to take it to IT 7 times in one year for Warranty, and I have to again because the stand f***ing broke off. IT BROKE OFF.
Alienware's decent but overpriced, only reason for this is because it's more of a "designer" laptop.

If anything, do a quick search on Ebay or something. Never know what you can find on there.
