right now only devs can use them but really it is essential for a mod to have they can be used for handling reports and etc
for fact checking reports and if a person has cropped some evidence for bad names or racism they can just check chat lohgs
A chat infraction shouldnt require an investigation. If said infraction happens again, correctly report it by all means, but if it doesn happen again why worry about it? Mods aren't supposed to seek out troublemakers. No support
I agree, something like a case of a chat infraction which is mostly what moderators handle don’t require chat logs, a player reports them with evidence and their punished. The server shouldn’t have to go out of its way to catch someone for bypassing a filter If it was to be a grief then that’s why mods have access to logblock. If it was an extreme case such as duping, ect (a case which would only be handled by noobcrew, kerahna, or lee) they have acces to chat logs which gives them what they need No support, theirs just no need for this and the server shouldn’t have to go out of its way to warn someone for a minor chat offense.
We could potentially have chat logs via logblock however this isn’t a necessity to me. We can ask kera and devs for these logs with ease. Chat logs are not something used for hard evidence generally. We can moderate without them, and get them reliably when we need
Why is a person who isn't a mod suggesting this? To get chat logs, you need access to parts of files. Lol and mods won't get that
He's not suggesting this because he wants access or anything, he was suggesting this to help Moderators with their jobs.
Moderators are volunteers and not workers. I don't want to see the staff team as a sort of law enforcement because it will discourage a lot of players to play. Yeah breaking chat rules isn't good but if we're all honest, there isn't a single player who hasn't broken a chat rule while a mod is offline.
No Support. Chat Logs aren't really a major necessity for evidence. If we ever needed chat logs, we can easily ask Kera or Lee for them straight up without any issues. I don't think this is priority or needed.
