So I have googled stuff and it doesn’t help so I thought I’d ask on here.

So basically, I want to sell dyes in my shop so obviously to make profit I need to farm them myself. This means I need to farm flowers. I know that placing bonemeal on grass gets you poppies and dandelions but I don’t know like how I’m meant to farm all the other flowers.

If anybody could help me out and link a video or show me theirs or something that would be wonderful, thanks! :)

Place a block of dirt with your flower of choice on top, then around it place a dispenser and fill it with bonemeal. Add a lever and then flick it a few times and it will grow the flowers which will drop as items and you can craft them into dye. To speed things up add more dispensers and connect them to a redstone timer.

EDIT: I have a load of those 4 types of flowers, let me know if you would like them.

This is my favorite minecraft resource (and i check this website all the time).

    Flower – Official Minecraft Wiki

The kinds of flowers you get from planting bonemeal on grass blocks depends on the biome you are in.

Swamp = blue orchids (light blue dye)

Flower Forest = allium (magenta), azure bluet (light gray), tulips (light gray, pink, red, orange, yellow), and oxeye daisy (light gray, banner pattern)

Flower first is extra special because each X and Z will only create one kind of flower.

    For pure dye farms:

    Have a dedicated skeleton grinder.

Have a dedicated squid grinder (they spawn with the cages only if the Y coordinate is in ocean level)

    Have a big cactus farm.

Have a big cocoa bean farm.

Take advantage of the 4 tall flowers (rose bush , lilac, peony, and sunflower. Bonemeal on a planted tall flower will give you the item. Use that in crafting table for 2 dye each.

Best set up, have an island set to swamp biome. Set up a dispenser facing the planted tall flowers.

Look up redstone flower generator on YouTube for the blue orchids.

Do this and you will have most of the colors covered. You will need to create your own source for lapis if you want the blue shades.

If you need ink my grinder is public for squids so you can afk there and come home with a full inv of ink (it's best to afk overnight, since they favor stacking over falling, but when they do fall its worth it) Do /visit Shiberia and look for the sign on the bridge!

Right so I’ve set up the tall flower dispenser things, but now I’m confused what to do about biome. So firstly which biome should I change it to, flower forest or swamp. And then secondly what do I do once I’ve changed the biome?

Swamp is your best bet so you can get the light blue. The others like Cyk said can be achived with the skele/squid/coco/cactus setup plus the 4 tall flower duplicator.

This gets you all the colors except the ones that require lapis.

Yeah I’ve managed to set all of it up, so it’s just getting hold of lapis for the purple and cyan dyes and then pure lapis. Is there anyway to get lapis apart from buying it or getting it from crates?

Have a really good stone generator. Use fortune 3 pickaxes to mine lapis ore blocks. Or, I think there is Lapis at /warp trade. To be honest, it might not be very profitable to sell the blue dyes. Just concentrate on the other colors.
