    title says it all,

"bUt yOuTubER iT WoULD cAuSe uNeSSacaRY drAmA fOR ThE sTAfF tEAM"

We have a salt rating on mineverse, I've moderated it for over a year and not once have I seen anyone start fights over a salt rating.

Support, no need to make you sad. Yeah, the salt rating in mv is awesome, wouldn't hurt to add.

Ratings are fine as they are. Even if they are fine on MV doesn't mean we should have them here. Plus there are situations I can foresee where people will be accused of being salty but are really not which changes the tone of the post.
Right now I feel we are in a perfect spot where ratings are not causing issues. I'd like to see positive ones rather than negative ones.

If you compare the problems that the salt rating might cause next to the problems of dislikes and such it doesn't seem like it'd be much of an issue to me.

the way I see it, the salt rating is a better alternative to salty threads then just disliking them.

I can see the argument that the ratings are fine where they are but I just see this as a simple addition that wouldn't be too hard to implement. (As for the perfect spot, perhaps adding another positive rating along with the salt rating?)

Huh? This is a suggestion for skyblock forums, not mineverse. There's already a salt rating in mineverse.

Honestly, there's enough drama over rude ratings. If we got a salt rating and people got rated salty when they were only being honest I think it'd cause a lot of trouble.

If we can have a salt rating, we need a hype train rating.

If someone is being salty the last thing that is needed is a salt rating to make that worse. It might work on mineverse, but mineverse is not skyblock and their community needs are different.

Ratings are fine as they are with no need for extra neutral ratings to be added.

I don't view it as making things worse, in my mind the salt rating is a better alternative to just disliking a post or saying they're salty in the thread where it can be argued about.

If people want to call somebody salty they can already do so but in a more mean manner.

Half the time the salt rating is used it isn't even used to call people salty, it's used to joke around with friends and such.

I believe that a rating like this would create more problems than it would solve, forum users could rate abuse using the rating to trigger people.
It could be used against people, and they may take offence to it.
And it would only create another issue as to whether it would count towards positive or negative figures, or neutral.

    Sorry dude ;(

I feel like people cause way too much drama over ratings, especially when they are given negative ratings. Currently, the only negative rating is 'Rude', and almost every time it is used, someone ends up reporting the post trying to get it removed. There isn't a whole lot of point in ratings, if people will complain every time it is used on them. In an ideal world, the ratings would only be shown on individual posts, as a way for users to express their opinion, rather than being shown in the graph on everyone's profile, as I believe that it would avoid many arguments. People tend to get quite annoyed when their 'streak', per se, of not having any negative ratings shown on their profile sidebar, is broken. I feel that in an ideal situation, this rating should be perfectly fine to add, but with the current state of the forums I don't believe that it would be a good idea. If people were willing to take ratings less seriously and just accept what they are given, except in cases of obvious rate abuse targeting only one specific person, there wouldn't be as many problems; however, for some reason "negative" ratings, even those that technically count as neutrals such as dislike or disagree, are seen as a personal attack rather than an expression of an opinion.

Again, ideally, the rating system would be much more balanced, counting ratings such as dislike, disagree, and no support as negatives, as that is exactly what they are. If someone takes the time to use that rating, they are saying they do not agree with what you are saying, which is quite obviously a negative opinion. It is not meant to be a personal attack; it is simply their way of expressing an opinion without unnecessarily replying to the thread. Yes, it would mean that the active users on the forums would have a larger red bar on their rating distribution chart, but there are always going to be people that disagree with you, and this is something that more people need to understand. It is not a personal attack; it is not an attempt to just "drag you down" per se; it is simply another way for users to express their opinions. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone else's opinion, as long as you are respectful about it.

In an ideal world, there would be nothing wrong with adding a salt rating, but I don't think that it would really work on these forums, for the time being.

    TL;DR
People need to calm down about ratings and not take them so seriously. If this were the case, we would most likely be able to add more ratings, as the staff wouldn't have to worry about drama over people taking the ratings of others too seriously. There is no problem with reporting users if they are obviously abusing their rating permissions, but the problem is that this happens quite often, even when it is not being abused in any way, and the user is simply expressing their opinion.
