at the moment, i dont see a lot of cactus farms. With that being said, a massive one makes less money than youd think. I was thinking maybe the growing rate of cacti can be bumped 1.5x to maybe twice as fast. Pros: provides an expensive challenge with a fairer output. (Sand is dummy expensive) Cacti already /sell cheaply Rich players already have their own ways to get money. I dont see them capitalizing on cactus farms Cons: An easier way to make money COULD POSSIBLY encourage island farming with a higher demand of sand
Neutral, This might create lag of cactus growing more. It would be nice to have a faster growing rate for money, but the lag.
no support cactus farming is already the #1 way of gaining money and people have huge cactus farms already
Can you prove that? (Not trying to come across as rude) im not sure thats the case as spawners can generate a lot more income in smaller quantities
Cacti dont make a huge lagg (compared to pumpkin farms almost no lagg). There are giant farms. Look at 1ak0's thread about fast money. He/she has a really big one.
Neutral leaning to a no support. I dont think money is made that "easy" on /economy plus that would even make people more "richer" and if you haven't noticed but many of the farming blocks (pumpkin, ice, etc) were nerfed due to it high price and people using it to make money. As also you said it would promote island farming which I think it's a really bad idea...
there is easy fixes to all of this 1) make sand/grass really cheap 2) make cactus sell price really high like $2 3) add different spawner types no more island farming
Neutral, The cactus growing slow is most likely due to server TPS, not the game, and upping the randomtickspeed for the cactus could only create more entities/more lag. Best of luck though
No support. When checking for entity counts it’s usually farms such as cobble gens or cactus farms which are notorious for filling their hopper systems and connected chests up. This then leaves them sitting around in huge piles, creating some lag, whilst waiting for clearlag to take them.
I'm going to go with no support. I do see quite a lot of cactus farms on eco, so players still use them to make fair amounts of money. Then there's the issue of these farms filling up more if the growing rate increases, which has a negative effect on the server's performance. I think it's better to leave the growing rate as it is.
Support, sand is very expensive. For the handful of players who have larger cactus farms they know the return is low, and to break even from buying a bunch of sand will happen over a long period of time. Raise the grow rate by a little bit, not too much. Side note: no one usually buys sand from /shop its always red sand from other players. So the main source of sand is from /kits and that is currently isn't as abundant and not too scarce (which is how it should be).
No support this would make economy too easy i mean we want it to be a bit easy so that we dont scare off new players but this is over-doing it a bit...
