I just noticed that items in the shop sometimes sell for less than 1% of what they cost. This makes it very hard for people to make money. I feel like spawners are nearly required to make money, and so far mostly donors only have spawners.
basically if items sold for more greynies would make money slightly easier
    or make items cost less
    either works
    just reduce the discrepancy

No support bc there's gonna be rich people who will be made richer. Then you have inflation

    it wouldn't reduce the discrepancy

You also have to take in account most people who aren't greys have large farms so it would just help increase the gap.
voting by far is the best money maker in the game for new players :)

voting falls off after your first 3k, then ur stuck gaining at most 1k each day. not really useful when a single block of sand costs 1.5k in the shop. you need at least a stack of sand to make a cactus farm that makes u ~1$ every 15 minutes, and so on and so forth.
    quick maths 1/1.5=(2/3)
    (2/3)*64=42-43
about 43 days to start earning one dollar each 15 minutes.
not really good for "starting players"

    inflation doesnt affect shops
diamonds are worth like 5 grass on skyblock.net now still doesnt affect prices much

No support. We already have enough people getting richer by the minute and some of them have huge grinders, farms and use their alts to afk there. As why should we increase the price if they've already been nerfed down for a good reason

i also suggested reducing the cost of some items in the shop. My whole point was that it was hard for new players to start off in the harsh economy

how ? u get 1500 a day from just voting ( if u sell your keys to players that would be 3k or risk them for other items that may or maynot get u more )

1500 a day isn’t enough when a single block of sand costs all of that. My whole point was that the gap between sell price and buy price was too large

this will get denied because the devs are unable to consider these suggestions but I don't like the idea anyway because there are already very right people on this server and they would benefit too much from lower prices

I get what you mean, but I think economy is fine the way it is. Some people just like it challenging and don’t mind working super hard and selling things for super cheap etc. I think it should remain challenging for those people, otherwise it’ll be too easy and boring. It’s unfortunate that new people may struggle, but there’s net and classic if they wish to have an easier experience with skyblocking.

The high prices in /shop are to get people to trade with eachother, and even tho I wouldn't mind selling my stuff for more to /shop the reasons why it shouldn't are already said above :)

Ice used to cost like 0.8$. What happened? People abused it. Even I did! It's cost was lowered for a reason, so nope.

No support, but by that logic, why would we not make everything sell for even less?

As lilCupcakeFreak explained above, the prices are intend to encourage players to trade among themselves.

Players will generally be able to get better buy/sell prices trading with each other.

For example, you can buy wood logs from a new player for less than the server sells them for. And the player who sells them can make more money selling them to players than to the server. If the server shop offered better prices than players could match, we'd be undercutting players and taking business away from them.

Think of the server shop as a buyer or seller of last resort. It will buy or sell certain items even if no one else wants to or has them in stock, but you'll generally get a better deal by trading with other players.

As BillOP noted above, the development team doesn't have any control over the prices themselves, so moving this to general discussion in case anyone wants to continue the discussion there.

Dont think we need this. You can easily make money elsewhere. And selling spawners isn't a requirement :p

Look at my tradeshop and you'll see a lot of common items

well obviously its hard for default players to earn money, they want you to spend money to become a 'donor' .-.
