This command makes sure no one can enter your island, except guests and coop members. Compared to lock, it has the same properties as banning a player. - Players cannot enter from neighboring islands - Players cannot visit or be tp'd - Players get kicked off the island when the command is typed To undo, /unrestrict. Basically a temporary island-wide /banall. EDIT 1: Staff members always bypass the command. EDIT 2: The argument that this might be abused and allow scamming is invalid. The commands /boot or /guest ban already exist, and then could be used just as well and they are existing commands. There isn't anything that would change about that if this got introduced. EDIT 3: /guest ban player is not equivalent to this command. If you /restrict your island, all players (with the exceptions stated above) are banned. To achieve the equivalent of typing this command, you would have to manually ban every single player that has ever joined and will ever join. Comparison: An administrator bans a single player, or he whitelists the entire server.
i like this and maybe like black wool around your island that only other players can see so if youre working on a project and dont want ANYONE to see it so yeah support
Well unless you have to guest ban every online player lol Support or maybe /guest banall and /guest removeall instead
Support. It definitely needs to be different from /lock, so I like the idea of /guest banall/ removeall. I’m concerned that this could be abused just like lock, /boot and /guestban can to keep player’s away after scamming them etc. If there’s a problem at an island, which needs staff’s help, I’m assuming helpers+ would bypass this?
Support. Staff should be able to bypass this (Helper and above) Might be abused to scam people. Overall, it’s a good idea.
Support, as long as staff are allowed to bypass this. This can easily be abused by other players, i.e scamming etc. then a staff not being able to attend the scene. We should get a notification if we bypass it though, just so we know we’re bypassing it with a valid reason.
Neutral. In general, it would be a good idea to be able to kick everyone off your island immediately, especially if it's a popular visit and you need to work on something. However, as Southwark says, this could be used to scam people during trades, such as locking the player out as soon as they've dropped their trade items on the other player's island. If this was to be introduced, I think it should be managed with extreme caution, or should maybe be exclusive to low-level donors and upward.
The argument that this might be abused and allow scamming is invalid. The commands /boot or /guest ban already exist, and then could be used just as well and they are existing commands. There isn't anything that would change about that if this got introduced.
Support, suggested it a long time ago and would be a good privacy setting for those who want their island very limited.
Support, this command sounds nice and seems helpful. I'm glad you edited for staff members to be able to bypass, for obvious reasons.
Support. I think that it would be very useful for some players to be able to essentially ban all players from visiting their island. As you stated previously, there are already commands such as /boot that can instantaneously kick players off of your island, so adding this wouldn't make it any easier to scam players than it already is, and would just give players a better /lock command. Full support, as long as staff are able to bypass this if needed. I also think it would be useful to add a warning message, if this were to be implemented, asking the player to confirm that they want to 'lock down' their island. This would make sure they know exactly what they are doing, so that they don't accidentally restrict it and confuse themselves when no one is able to come to their island.
