    Welcome,
Here I am going to discuss the Mob Arena, and how to have a high success rate in mob arena.

    What is Mob Arena?
Mob Arena is a wave-by-wave survival game in the Skyblock servers. Players face against up to 40 waves of mobs consisting of zombies, skeletons, zombie pigman, vindicators, witches, strays, husks, blazes, and spiders. There are also bosses, swarm and special waves. Players are rewarded random items upon each wave survived. Upon completion of mob arena, there is a 30% chance to receive a nether star, and a 70% chance to receive your own head (needs confirmation).

    Why Should I Care?

The rewards are pretty good once you get past wave 30. Most items received at this point are usually worth at least a grass block or two. The final reward is also very good. Considering it takes about 30-45 minutes, it may be the fastest way to get rich in Skyblock.

    Why are You Making This?

I am making this because I am sick and tired from having to carry everyone in Mob Arena and not passing sometimes due to other inabilities. I am also making this as a kind of wiki to figure out what all the possible rewards are.

Now that those basic questions are answered, lets jump into the gory details. There are TL;DR sections for those that don’t want to read all this.

    Classes

There is a total of 7 classes in mob arena. Only a certain amount of people can choose each class, but you should be able to have quite a lot of the same class. The classes (as listed from left to right in the Mob Arena lobby) are Assassin, Knight, Tank, Donor, Witch, Archer, and Medic. Choosing the right class is very crucial to your survival and potentially the survival of your teammates.

    Assassin Kit:

    · Black Leather Helmet (1 armor)

    · Black Leather Chestplate (3 armor; Projectile Protection II enchant)

    · Black Leather Leggings (2 armor)

    · Black Leather Boots (1 armor)

    · Iron Sword (7.5 damage; 1.6 swing speed; Sharpness III and Smite III enchants)

    · 3x Potion of Swiftness (3:00)

    · 4x Potion of Leaping (3:00)

    · 3x Potion of Instant Healing II

    · 3x Potion of Swiftness II (1:30)

    · 4x Gold Nugget Apple

    · 1x Gold Block Apple

    · 1x Milk

Assassins are essentially the DPSs’ of Mob Arena. Assassins have the second highest base damage sword in Mob Arena, but it also comes with another amazing enchantment. Smite III will allow players to kill undead mob during non-boss waves in one shot if buffed with Strength. This makes Assassins the most powerful class against undead. You should always try to go for undead during non-boss rounds. Assassins have the worst armor of all classes, but the one enchant on it is useful. You need to be careful when playing Assassin, you are very easy to die. Your potions are not that great, but you do receive a gold block apple. You should use the gold block apple on wave 30, or when AFKing. Use the other gold apples to supplement the gold block apple.

    Knight Kit:

    · Iron Helmet (2 armor; Protection I enchant)

    · Chain Chestplate (5 armor; Protection II enchant)

    · Chain Leggings (4 armor; Protection I enchant)

    · Iron Boots (2 armor; Protection I enchant)

    · Diamond Sword (7 damage; 1.6 swing speed; Smite II and Sweeping Edge II enchants)

    · 3x Potions of Instant Healing

    · 3x Potions of Strength (8:00)

    · 4x Gold Nugget Apple

    · 1x Milk

Knights are a middle ground kind of class. They have the third highest base damage sword of all classes, but with Smite II. This makes them particularly useful against undead, but you will not one shot undead like the Assassin does. They have the third highest armor rating of all classes, making them a lot more balanced than Assassin. There potions are somewhat good, particularly the 8-minute Strength potion.

    Tank Kit:

    · Diamond Helmet (3 armor; Projectile Protection II enchant)

    · Iron Chestplate (6 armor; Protection I and Thorns I enchants)

    · Iron Leggings (5 armor; Protection I enchant)

    · Diamond Boots (3 armor; Thorns I enchant)

    · Iron Sword (7.5 damage; 1.6 swing speed; Sharpness II, Bane of Arthropods II, and Sweeping Edge II enchants)

    · 3x Potion of Instant Healing II

    · 4x Potion of Strength (3:00)

    · 1x Potion of Fire Resistance (3:00)

    · 2x Potion of Swiftness (3:00)

    · 4x Gold Nugget Apple

    · 1x Milk

Tanks are the low-budget Donor, or alternatively spider killer class. The stats are very similar between Donor and Tank. The main differences are that Tanks have a little less armor and less useful enchants, a better sword (which is the most powerful against spiders of all classes), and more healing potions. Tanks are primarily useful if you are going to AFK, but the Donor class is already full. They are then useful for weeding out the pesky spiders.

    Donor Kit:

    · Diamond Helmet (3 armor)

    · Diamond Chestplate (8 armor; Projectile Protection III enchant)

    · Diamond Leggings (6 armor)

    · Diamond Boots (3 armor)

    · Iron Sword (7 damage; 1.6 swing speed; Sharpness I enchant)

    · 5x Potion of Strength II (1:30)

    · 2x Potion of Fire Resistance (3:00)

    · 2x Potion of Instant Healing II

    · 3x Gold Nugget Apple

    · 1x Milk

Donors are the AFK class in Mob Arena. If you think you might AFK in Mob Arena during non-boss waves or for extended periods of time, you should pick this class. Their sword is not the greatest, with the third highest base damage. Their armor is the best of all class in Mob arena and it has a very useful enchant on it. Their potions are somewhat good because you receive Strength II potions. This allows Donor class to outclass medics if they are using regular Strength.

    Witch Kit:

    · Gold Helmet (2 armor)

    · Gold Chestplate (5 armor; Projectile Protection IV enchant)

    · Gold Leggings (3 armor; Fire Protection IV enchant)

    · Gold Boots (1 armor)

    · Stone Sword (5 damage; 1.6 swing speed; Smite I, Bane of Arthropods II, and Knockback I enchants)

    · 2x Splash Potion of Regeneration II (0:22)

    · 4x Splash Potion of Posion (0:45)

    · 3x Potion of Swiftness II (1:30)

    · 2x Potion of Invisilbity (3:00)

    · 3x Potion of Fire Resistance (8:00)

    · 3x Splash Potion of Instant Healing

    · 12x Splash Potion of Harming II

    · 4x Gold Nugget Apple

    · 1x Milk

Witches are the mob healer class. Witches have the weakest sword of all classes but have a very slight buff on spiders. This is outclassed by the Tank’s sword though, making this possibly the worst sword of all classes. Witch armor is mediocre, but it has pretty good enchant on it. The potions Witches receive are very mediocre. They are mostly useful for clearing out the spider swarm rounds. Do not play as this class, it is just simply awful.

    Archer Kit:

    · Green Leather Helmet (1 armor)

    · Chain Chestplate (5 armor; Projectile Protection II enchant)

    · Green Leather Leggings (2 armor)

    · Green Leather Boots (1 armor)

    · Bow (x damage; Power III, Punch I, and Infinity I enchants)

    · Wood Sword (5 damage; 1.6 Swing Speed; Sharpness I and Smite II enchants)

    · 1x Arrow

    · 5x Potions of Instant Healing

    · 2x Potions of Fire Protection (3:00)

    · 4x Gold Nugget Apple

    · 1x Bone (turns into an attack dog when launched into the arena)

    · 1x Milk

Archers are very useful class in Mob Arena. They are not a necessarily good class in terms of armor or damage, but they do one thing that is good. That one thing, is dealing with skeletons and strays. The attack dog that archers get can distract skeletons and strays into running away. Archers can also kill skeletons and strays from afar to prevent taking damage. The bow can do a lot of damage, but the timing can be very hard to determine when considering lag. There sword has the worst base damage out of all the sword, but it does make up against undead due to the Smite enchantment. Their armor is the second worse in Mob Arena, and the one enchant on it is useful. The potions they receive are rather mediocre. The archer relies heavily on potions from upgrade rounds and from medics to stay alive. Archers are the only class capable of soloing Mob Arena at the moment.

    Medic Kit:

    · Red Leather Helmet (1 armor)

    · Chain Chestplate (5 armor; Projectile Protection IV enchant)

    · Chain Leggings (4 armor; Fire Protection IV enchant)

    · Chain Boots (1 armor; Thorns III enchant)

    · Stone Sword (8 damage; 1.6 swing speed; Sharpness V and Sweeping Edge III enchants)

    · 12x Splash Potions of Regeneration II (0:22)

    · 12x Splash Potions of Instant Health II

    · 6x Splash Potions of Strength (3:00)

    · 6x Splash Potions of Speed II (1:30)

    · 6x Splash Potions of Fire Resistance (3:00)

    · 4x Gold Nugget Apples

    · 1x Gold Block Apple

    · 1x Milk

Medics are the biggest team players and backbone of Mob Arena. You want to try and keep these guys alive because they will return the favor and keep you alive. Medics have the strongest general sword in Mob Arena. Their armor is mediocre at best, but the enchants on them are by far the most useful. Medics carry a lot of potions with which to heal themselves, others, or even damage enemy zombies and zombie pigmen. They also have quite a few potions with which to buff everyone else with. Be careful with using your potions though, they can also buff enemy mobs. Medics also have the two different types of golden apples. The gold block apple should be used when close to death, AFKing, or on wave 40. Use the other 4 golden apples to supplement the gold block apple when the extra health is lost due to enemy attacks.

    Official Class Tier List:

    1. Medic

    2. Archer

    3. Assassin

    4. Donor (there is a big drop-off in class usefulness after this point)

    5. Tank

    6. Knight

    7. Witch

    TL;DR:

Play as Medic or Archer if you can. If there are a lot of medics and you can PvE correctly, then play as assassin. If you need to AFK a little bit, play as Donor.

    Strategy:

    1. Don’t die. May seem obvious but remember that it is more important to stay alive than to kill mobs.

    2. Time your swings. This is a 1.12 server, not a 1.8 server. You need to attack with slight delays in between your swings for optimal damage.

    3. Use Jump attacks on singular enemies. It can be hard to jump attack multiple enemies that are following you. This is especially true for spiders and vindicators.

    4. Run to the middle between rounds. Medics will commonly heal/buff near the middle of the arena in between rounds.

    5. Do not buff the bosses. Bosses can be affected by splash pots, be careful when throwing near them.

    6. Space out AROUND the boss on boss waves. Let everyone in to attack the boss. Do not go inside of the boss. Healing the boss is somewhat ok if you can heal a lot of your team.

    7. Try not to knock mobs into other players. You are playing a team game, don’t grief.

    8. If you are going to AFK, AFK in the middle. You will be best protected and healed there.

    9. Don’t dye your armor. It makes it harder to identify what class each person is.

    10. If a player becomes rooted by the boss, protect him from the boss. It can be very easy to die when rooted.

    11. Remove any trails you currently have on. It can be obnoxious and block the screen most times. It can also be misleading to medics if you have the swirls trail on.

Reserving this spot to make a changelog or add in another subject. You can help build this wiki/guide up. Reply below if you want me to add information. I will try to keep this somewhat updated. For anyone wondering why it is in multiple posts, there is a character limit for each post.

This guide was very helpful. I know almost nothing about the mob arena, and I found it very interesting to look through the different waves, and see what kind of rewards you could get, as well as what mobs you would most likely have to fight. Great job!

Most every aspect of this is still unfinished. The rewards list is not full, upgrade rounds are not complete and the wave by wave enemies are not accounted for. I need help with finishing this.
