Fix Command Restrictions

Heyo,

So in recent times while spending a little bit of time in places such as /warp mob, I've noticed that some very basic commands such /list, /realname, and even something as essential as /help is restricted while in this area.

Please understand, I haven't gone through excessive testing of different commands while in /warp mob, or other areas such as the mob arena or nether, yet I'm sure there are plenty of useful and basic commands that have been restricted in these areas too.

What I'm trying to get at is, maybe we could uh, just let people use commands that don't provide unfair advantages in these places?

So look, /heal, /god, /fly, and all of these kinda commands are very understandably removed from /warp mob, mob arena, nether, etc. but the others... why remove those?

It's just inconvenient and unnecessary in my opinion.

I can imagine it especially being an inconvenience when you see someone breaking a chat rule and you need to find out their real name but /realname is restricted.

That's just one example, but yeah, there you have it.





Tl;dr
- Some commands are restricted when they probably don't need to be in places like: /warp mob, mob arena, and the nether.
- Can be inconvenient in some cases.
- Just restrict what has to be restricted, not others, especially not /help.

Note:
I'm not actually 100% sure about this applying as much to the nether and mob arena, but I have experienced it in past, don't know if it's changed for them.

 

I have these problems mostly on mob arena when you are waiting but you change your mind. You can't leave until you die or actually leave the server.

 

To be fair if you ever need to leave mob arena just type /ma l you’ll be free to go.

But yeah just in general, it’s not exactly fun missing out on potential mob arena rewards just because we needed to use some specific command at the time.

 

There are hundreds of commands and they have lots of aliases. We can't go through the list and restrict all the commands players shouldn't be allowed to use. The list would be far too long to manage. So instead, we deny all commands by default and only allow enable specific commands that should be allowed.

For this reason, the suggestion to allow all commands except the ones that should be explicitly denied cannot be implemented.

Please feel free to suggest specific commands/aliases you think should be allowed in these regions and we will gladly consider them.

 

Yeah to be fair, while making this thread I did realise that I wasn't all that in-depth as to which commands should be allowed, etc.

I just made this suggestion simply to put it out there while it was still relevant in my mind at the time.

In other words, I'll get back to ya on that.

Obviously other players can chip in too if in this thread as to what should be allowed in certain areas too, otherwise it's not very inclusive lmao.
