Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening

First, thank you for taking the time to reading my application. I’d never have thought I’d be here again but life is very different for me than it was 10 months ago. Now, I’m back on the server (Org mainly) and I would really like to be contributing. Anyways, on with the application.


My name is Sarah, I am 18 years old I am currently a student working towards a certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care so by next year I can be a qualified educator, making a difference in the lives of our youngest generation. I have experience in customer service, car rental and retail and as many of you may know, experience in moderating.

Languages:

I speak fluent English, some Japanese phrases (due to a year of taking compulsory language class at school) and some words in German.


Banned?

I understand that I have been once before but I can’t remember why. It was a 2 day ban and that was 2-3 years ago I think. I haven’t been banned since.


Why do you think you should be moderator?

This is a re-application. I resigned due to problems in my personal life and time pressures. I can officially say this has all changed. Now, I’d like to regain my position as moderator. I don’t expect to be full mod straight away mind you, but I’d really like to be considered just like any other person.

Org is overly quiet, anyone can see that. But I believe with consistent activity and a little TLC, org can regain its bustling community and I would like to play a part in that.

My goal for if I ever become Mod is to not abuse the power, to be as fair as I can to players (e.g. giving fair amount of warnings and being as informative as I can.) I have seen a few mods come and go who weren’t very tolerant or patient and I that is not the kind of mod I want to be. I’d like to be there to support players and keep the peace in a land of diverse opinions and backgrounds.


Qualifications:

Maturity:

I have always been told I am extremely mature for my age, even when I was younger. I believe I reflect this maturity in my daily activities, my work and of course, Skyblock.

Positive:

I am a generally positive person. I love to smile and I like making other people happy. I like to give guidance where I can and to generally provide support for those who may be struggling.


Focused:

Being in my final year of school required a great deal of focus. Also, I do a great deal of office work for my job such as administration which also requires focus.

Fair:

I believe strongly in giving people fair warning and opportunity to correct their wrongs before enforcing punishment.

Helpful:

I love helping people by answering questions, righting any wrongs and helping people with their islands too.

Active:

I like to be as active as I can, when I can. To me, being active isn’t just about being online, but also about being available to chat and to help.


Patient:

I know that a huge part of being mod and even being a part of this server is patience. I know that I have this. I worked in customer service for 3 years and I am planning to become a teacher. Both requires a huge amount of patience. If I can handle an angry mob of customers or screaming toddlers, I can certainly handle people on a server.


Reliable:

Many people have relied on me in real life with work and with school. My employers have relied on me to be able to work without supervision and to do the right thing. People at school have relied on me for help and for group assignments.


Pro-Active:

When I see something that needs done, I like to do it without needing to be told. I believe this is a quality skill in any person. Also always being on the lookout for ways that the server can be improved and having the initiative to bring that up is important.

How long can you be active on the server every day?

I can generally be on after school/work every day for at least 4 hours and longer on the weekends after the house work is be done.

I also realise that my activity on forums needs improvement and that can be something that I work on.

As I’ve have said, I previously was a moderator on this server and was for over a year.

I understand that previously being a moderator here means that I should automatically be reinstated which is why I am making an application. I completely understand if people/staff don’t want me back but I would really like to be considered.

Sorry but no support. You weren't really that active when I was on the team and I never saw you attend to any staff meetings or interact with staff. Possibly interacting more would be nice. I know you can't do anything on org since org is dead, but it would be cool seeing you be a net mod since org piratically has no players online at all times.
