.net questions? Server being down?

Why has the server been down so often? Is that normal? I've been playing skyblock for about 4-5 months actively, (I used to only get on like 1 day every 2 weeks when I was a greenie,) and have not experienced this.

Also, when and if it updates, will there be an obsidian trade? Because I'm pretty sure that obby gens don't work in 1.8

And Island Protection! When is that going to be a thing? How does it work? I have an island, and I left the coop. My friend is quite in-active, so how will I be able to do stuff there? Will I still be able to open chests? I have a stone gen there, and a few other important things... Help

I don't know if the server is updating, but I have experience this yesterday, too. The server keeps to restarting every few minutes and it is frustrating. For the island protection thingy, I think there will be a command to allow people to build on your island. Not sure.

Yea I just get disconnected out of no where then can't connect for like 10 minutes

It was very funny yesterday, I just finished building an exact replica of old /spawn (/warp die), one person comes to view it, and the server crashed and didn't work for an hour... What a coincidence XD

 

Yeah.
I've been getting disconnected without any delay, like I just get disconnected all a sudden without any server lag and without any delays.
I don't think my frame rate has dropped randomly or anything though.
I'd say it's because it's being updated xD

 

Its been down for a day or so for me, as of April 19, 2015.

 

Thanks... I'm sure it'll be fine, one of my friends was worried that he wasn't going to be able to open chests on my island.

 

just cause i wanna... noobcrew was viewing this, and it might still be on his forums. LOL

obsidian will be fixed, obviously they wouldnt let us go without.
and yeh, the new world protection will be nice
