Introduction First of all, applying for Helper is not a one-day process, it is a process that takes weeks, therefore, I decided to apply now even though I got active recently. During this process, I will try to convince as many as possible. Your in-game and discord tag: In-game: OakiiDoakie (nicknamed Oak) Discord tag: O A K#1050 (nicknamed Oak) What time zone are you in? GMT+2 Can you speak any additional languages? I am fluent in Swedish and English, and moderate in Norwegian, Danish, German and French. Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? Yes, I have OBS studious and Medal TV for recording purposes, and for screenshots, I use F2 or Lightshot. How long can you be active on our platforms everyday? Generally speaking, I am online in-game for a couple of hours per day, 1-6h. I regularly chat on Discord and Forums and I am online a couple of times per day to check notifications or to chat. When did you first join Skyblock? I joined Skyblock Classic back in ~2014 when I was young since then I've played Skyblock back and forth. Have you ever been banned on any platform? No, I have not been banned on any of the platforms. Do you have any past moderation experience? Yes, I have past experience with moderation. I moderated another Minecraft server back in 2019, which is one of the biggest servers today. This experience gave me a lot of knowledge when it comes to plain Minecraft moderation. In addition, have I moderated a big Discord server (~120k members), which was pretty recently. Moderating a discord server gave me a lot of experience in leadership and how to lead, influence, and bring a community together. When it comes to real life, I have been a school council member for a year, where I learned a lot about listening to a big group of people and making decisions based on that. Why do you think you should become a staff member? I already do a lot of the work of staff members, I help new players on a regular basis, I answer questions and help any people who may have concerns and I do my best for everyone to feel comfortable whenever they play or chat. Some of my qualifications that would make me a great staff member: ✧ Trustworthy ✧ Trust is a basic etiquette of humanity, which is extremely important for society to function. Being trustworthy as a person is important as a staff member as you'll the face outwards to the community. Trust is- for the most part, something you earn over time, meaning, as a well-known member of the Skyblock community I am trusted by most players in the server, which is something that is key when you are staff of a server as their trust for the server relies upon your hands. ✧ Friendly & Helpful ✧ I am always friendly and helpful, I want everyone around me to feel good and included, this is also key when moderating a server as you want all members to feel included around you. Getting excluded by a staff member would leave the member stranded with the thought of the server itself being bad, therefore, it is extremely important for a staff member to be welcoming, friendly, and helpful. When I see someone who is in need of help, I do not hesitate to help them whatever it takes. ✧ Teamwork ✧ Working in a team is very beneficial and something I appreciate, I have a lot of working experience which has given me a good taste of what a good team player is. In addition, I am currently running a company during this year in school as a class. This has given me a great understanding of what a great team player and leader is like. ✧ Problem-solver ✧ Where ever you are, or whatever you do, problems will always occur, including being a staff member of this server. As a person I am very clever and open-minded which makes me a good problem-solver. When a problem occurs and I do not have an 'answer' on what to do I am very good at tolerating that stress and coming up with a solution. Do you meet the requirements for staff? Yes, I do Thank you for taking the time to read my application, Oak
Hey Oak! Nice and thoroughly thought out application. You carry some amazing traits that will definitely help in a staff position, you have good activity across the discord and in-game! I am going to go neutral for now as it is only recently you have returned to the server and it'd be great to get to know you more to see what else you bring! I am excited to see you around
Starting off with no support, will come back soon and update my opinion based on what I see. Would honestly support from what I see online but I cannot give you a plus when you have been back for not even a week. Good luck!
No Support. You seem like you'll be a qualified candidate in the coming weeks or months, but I won't support you until I can see that for myself. You also seem to be in and out of this server somewhat frequently, so what's stopping you from leaving again after playing for a few months? You do have experience on this server, but I'd like to see that you're actually dedicated before I change my rating This is somewhat nit-picky, but I wouldn't use the phrase "convince as many as possible". It just has a more negative connotation attached to it. Something along the lines of "I will do my best to show that I have the qualifications needed to become part of the staff," might have a more positive edge.
well callydre I believe you are permanantely banned from the server 'skyblock.net' so i dont think u can see for urself if he good
I don't need to be in-game to get a good idea of activity. Active use of the forums and discord along with a general idea of how other people view his activity is good enough for me to see whether he is actually going to be dedicated or not. Plus he's in an entirely different time-zone, even if I could be in-game it's unlikely we'd be on simultaneously much
Thanks for all opinions so far, I agree that I applied early and I do not expect you all to support me now, as that’s something I’d ‘expect’ in a couple of weeks when I’ve shown myself online more. Although, I decided I’d apply now to show that I am interested and serious about helper.
Can't support this application yet because you just got back. I also don't know how you changed or didn't change nor have I talked to you as much. I was busy irl with school and work so I can't say anything about your activity overall. You are picking up the presence on discord which is good. Keep being active on discord and show more forums presence. Otherwise its a no from me.
You’ve just came back and applying so soon seems like a rush. You should’ve taken some more time to get to know the community in my opinion, and to connect with others. I’ve seen you on Discord talking to people and that’s a good step, but applying already seems rushed. I don’t know you well, but I’d love to get to know you. No support at the moment, good luck.
Thank you for all of your feedback, I’m aware that I did in fact apply early on. Although, I did apply early to show that I’m interested and serious about this. In addition to this I believe applying for helper is a process meaning hopefully people support me towards the end of the process after seeing me active, helpful, etc. Thank you all
Don't encourage people to delete their applications, that's just being rude. Just because you have ratings that aren't support does not mean they can't come back and change (which most likely the majority will actually do). If he wants to post it this early it's fine, it will just take longer for some to re-evaluate their position.
He is not being rude, he is merely suggesting that a new application some time later may do good. While I don't agree with it entirely it certainly is not rude
This is lowkey unnecessary and you're being extremely rude to someone who's also providing input. If you can provide advice, so can others. It is rude to discourage people, and receiving honest feedback from others is crucial. If you're receiving neutral or no supports, take it into account and improve on what others find you lack. Deleting your application makes it seem like you cannot take honest feedback or input into account. Trust me, you're not the only person who's had a bad application and deleted/withdrew it instantly. This is NOT your application. Oakk, I would suggest listening to Calidre and not delete your application. Yes, you applied early. It allows us to understand your interest and to keep an eye out on your activity and interactions in the community so we can further understand if you surely have an interest in the Helper position and how you're proving yourself. Best of luck once again. We all mean well and we all want you to strive. If you surely want to get a promotion, I'm sure you'll avoid deleting the application and putting more effort in to proving that you're dedicated and deserve this role.
updated opinion: neutral. just give yourself more time but i can see you making good progress i won’t see u online much due to time zones but if i see others have said that you’ve made progress, then i will change my opinion.
Oak, I really like you as a person from what I've seen of you so far, but I have to agree with everyone else; Neutral here. In every way I support you and have a positive opinion of you, except for you having only recently come back. For the record I do think you'll make a good addition one day.
I haven't seen you around enough to make an opinion just yet. Rest assured with time this'll change, yaddy ya, you know the drill good luck
